View Full Version : Aletia - Suck , They steal customer !
I'm a EX aletia customer, then over a month not anymore whit aletia...
I have tried to ask to get a crédit for the hosting i have not used, then these lamer is not even reply to any Email .....
WARNING TO ALL, Aletia is a Scam !
I'm so frustrated that i guess a will build a web page just to blast these looser !
Be warned about this place is real bunch of sh.....
A frustrated customer!
Hosting compagny like this should not exist, they rip ppl
then ppl lose behaviour in hosting because of place like this!

TrishM 05-01-2002, 10:42 AM Actually tech, same thing here, I opened a ticket last week for a refund of my 7 months of credit (paid annually) and all I got was "account suspended" nothing else, I have updated the ticket requesting further information (already supplied them with the info they require to refund my money) and have heard nothing. Updated the ticket yesterday mornign telling them if I hear nothing by Friday I will be charging back the full 100% of my hosting fee that I paid in November.
I'm hoping that will get their attention.

No offense, but if you paid for the year, why do they need to refund anything past the guarantee? You pay yearly knowing you get a better deal and a long term commitment. If their service absolutely sucked, then they should at least charge you full price for each month (less any uptime guarantees) and a refund fee to recoup small transaction charges.
I'M trying over month to get credit ...
they dont bother at all, Not receive email even not
update the tichet, i bet they have simply deleted it !!
i will check to do a complaint about aletia at paysystem & 2checkout, because as i know aletia is burned at paysystem
they tell me (last time i have talked to someone.. long time ago in the galaxy) they change for 2checkout !
They are realy lamer... I dont understand why

Place like this discourage all ppl to build website.. All good hosting pay for crapy place like that because its hard to trust another host afer seing place like this ..
Aletia staff, if i can have you in front of me just for 5min :-) Just 5min...:angry:
Then best of all they keep a Domain name i have buy there in hostage, i cant transfert it ! Someone know if i can do someting about that ???
i know the domain come from registryrocket.com
if someone can help about that...?

Why, simply easy , they are not providing what we pay for !
When you pay for hosting you should have hosting....
If you pay for and host then the host going down days after days then not 5 minutes downtime ! Last i have seen is over 2 days down its simply innaceptable... No support at all nothing ! What we are paying you guest ?? Just to keep the pocket of aletia full.... ?
Guest no .. If you pay for someting and dont receive what you expect a refund is justified !

Tech, did you pay to get the domain name, or get it for free from Aletia when you signed on for a year?

Of course, as I clearly stated. I just see a lot of people come here and bash host because they want out of a year contract because 6 months into it they found a cheaper one. Happens all the time. Bottomline. Never sign up yearly unless you have a positive track record with your host.
By the sounds of it, they owe you a refund for lack of service. Good luck with it. :)

Its not the case, i am moved now but because i have no choice... If the host where i am now is good i will stay for long time, i will not change my host if i have no problem and good support to save 1$/month or someting, Anyway i'm not the only one whit prob whit aletia just take a look at the forum of aletia or here...
They cannot continu to steal ppl like this its unbelivebale....:-(
The previous host i have before aletia i was whit it for 3 years, then have to change because lack of options, but whit this host ill have no more than 2 hours downtime in 3 year!!! Then whit aletia, got no problem for couple of month then downtime et downtime et downtime, then cgi not working, then mysql not working.. Almost anyting go down one after one... Then no reply to support ticket for someting as IMPORTANT than server down for 1, 2, 3, 4 hours.. When i have moved my site they still be down even after my dns have changed & updated... Poor .. Very very poor...

I am owed a refund for 7 months of service not used. There is no clause that I cannot cancel at any time. I am more than willing to pay for the 5months used at the monthly rate which is what they say they will do. But I have not heard one thing from them since cancelling my account. No "refund is in the mail" nothing, just "your account has been suspended".
I moved because of server problems, not because of finding cheaper. In fact who I went with is more expensive.
As well there should be no "admin" fees removed from the money refund. "Admin" for what? Not providing support? Having your server go down for hours with no reason why? I don't think so.
Besides that isn't in their policy.
I just want my 7 months back, I stuck through 2 months of horrible serverness and I'm not expecting that money back..just what I didn't use. I am entitled to a refund of fees paid. I will get it, even if it means charging back the whole amount. It is not like I haven't given them time to get back to me...over two weeks is quite sufficient I think!

From their FAQ
What happens if I terminate an annual hosting plan after 30 days but before 1 year is up?
You would be refunded the remaining unused months as if you were on monthly billing (the annual discount would no longer apply).
Since when don't you get a refund for months you don't use??

well, our customer like us, but if you sign for 12 months and leave 2 months later .. we dont' refund your money, neither do most hosts.
After 30 days, that is it, no more money back

Here is something to consider. Goes with buyer beware. Don't pay for something a year in advance unless you are 100% sure it is right for you. That is all I am saying. My point is not really tied to this thread, in that it sounds like bad service was the norm and they have in writing they do refunds. But as Carlos said, most will not.

So if this is realy the case , this is realy bad ... Because if you carlos or whatever who... If you sale a plans to a guy then you dont bring what you supposed to bring to the customer.. Then your not Honest !
We dont talk about quitting 2 month before end .. Anyway if this was the cast (for me at least) i will not complaining then quit whitout asking anyting...
The case here is Server problem, unnaceptable Downtime, no reply to ticket support, Then no choice to quit this dump because your website is down for like 2 days, then no one reply to any support ticket at all ! They simply dont bother you then delete the msg !
Carlos, Tell me when you get your server/site down for 2 days... Then constant problem... Then you rush a ticket support then 30h then no reply norhing at all ... Just down... We pay for hosting and we expect to have what i was paying for !
And anyone not doing a credit for a customer because your how fault, because your not able to have stable server, you have to be realy lamer... If you dont know how to keep a server up dont sell hosting... Rebouting 3 time a day each days wont change anyting...
anyway... I'm pisting just remembering this dam place hiierkkkk...

With Aletia I have no issues, simply because I am on the only stable server, Dolphin.

same here. my new host is incredible, but more expensive.
i was with aletia for almost a year and in a few months i saw them go from a great, reliable hosting company, to one of the biggest scams on the net. i hope they go under and die.

The case here, is that Aletia DOES offer refunds if you prepay. Weather you are going to provide refunds to your customer for prepaid months is not the case. If they clearly state, which they have that they refund prepaid months, than they SHOULD, with no questions asked.
The 30 day guarantee, IMO, means they don’t pay for anything, if they are unsatisfied, reglardless of any prepaid months. If they are satisfied and the 30 days pass, than they can only get back their money for the months they did not use. Stating in your guarantee or in your TOS that once the 30 days are over, you can’t get a cent back would clear up these issue if they arise. But in the above case, they do state that they give refunds for prepaid months.
I hope Aletia gets their act together, because I'm getting tired of hearing about these business. Weather they have not contacted their costumers on purpose or not, they are defiantly scaring the s*** out of them by not responding to any communication, which has lead them to make these post weather premature or not. When it comes to your money, even if it is $1.00 your going to want it back.
