I'd like to start up an expo or a full award show about web hosting. Something that would appear on a tech radio station, tech television show, and really become the happening place for the industry. Sort of the "emmy" or "oscar" of web hosting. How do people get the funding to start up expos and things of that sort anyway?

I don't know much about this but I would believe that you would need to charge a fee per industry company to setup a table or whatever you would like to call it.. This is how computer shows do it so I am assuming that this would run on basically the same lines at what you are trying to do. Well best of luck and keep us updated.

You might want to talk to the people at Web Hosting Magazine, who ran Web Hosting Expo last year. They've since stopped printing their magazine, and are skipping a year for the Expo. But if there is an Expo, it will either be the survival of this one, or something else in the future. It would seem unproductive to start a second one, given the situation.

I agree! This would be an excellent idea. I sent you an e-mail regarding the idea.
