View Full Version : high quality cpanel skin?
And by high quality I mean, well polished, well thought out (design/layout wise), kept updated as cpanel add new features etc.
Just as a reference - rvskin, cpskins and cpanelxp are NOT what I would consider high quality (atleast not in terms of design) eg. the icons in rvskin/cpskins look like they were swiped from some 80's DOS program ...
Patrick 01-12-2006, 02:56 AM Take a look at http://www.razorskins.com - They offer some very pretty skins...
Thanks, I'll check it out as soon as their demo page is back up (seems down at the moment)
Any others?
P-nut 01-13-2006, 09:19 PM Have you looked at all the cpskins products, papi? I recently purchased the Radiance Skin and have heard nothing but praises over how nice it looks.
radiance looks nice but it's in no way better than the default/free X skin that comes with cpanel...

Yea, Razorskins' site is broken. You can't view any of their products. They do have a "flash recovery" service. Maybe someone should submit a ticket to them to recover their own flash based site?
mhale 02-05-2006, 05:26 PM STAY AWAY FROM RAZORSKINS:
I purchased skins from them, all of their skins in fact, for over $300! Shortly after I purchased my account was terminated and it has been nothing but the run-around since. I finally got the guy to send me a refund check, only to find out he put a STOP PAYMENT on it right after he sent it.
I would highly recommend the skins from CPSkins.com. They are great.

I would have to disagree here; radiance has all the links set up nicely on the index page, and has a nice side menu on the inner pages that make browsing between tasks a LOT easier.
But to each his own, I suppose :)
most of the cpskins.com look half finished and not well thought out at all.. my opinion.
eg. why doesn't the frigging Email Management menu have a direct link to 'Add New Account' ? Because the author put 0 thought into it IMO - just like Cpanel (or whoever create X/X2)

That's sort of funny in an ironic kind of way. The site used to work, and I liked their skins... very nice in my opinion.
However after hearing about the bad experience talked about in this thread I'd like to hear what Razorskin's response is before I purchase anything...

You seem hard to please and very critical of someone else's work. Perhaps you should hire someone to make one for you?
Would love to know what skin your talking about.. Alo just because it's not worded 'Add New Account' doesn't mean it's not there it is on EVERY single main page otherwise inside the email section. <CL Edit - link removed>

I also liked their skins, which I why I went to purchase them.
You don't have to worry about RazorSkins replying, because no one will.
According to the only person I was able to track down, the owner of RazorSkins is gone and won't be back for several months.
Odd Fact 02-07-2006, 01:18 PM Thread cleaned of promotional messages.

I am talking about Radiance .. you do NOT have a direct link to the 'Add Account' page under any menu. One has to go to 'POP Email Accounts' (X/X2's equivalent of Manage/Add/Remove Accounts) and then click on 'Add Account'.
Look I'm not saying the skins are BAD per se ... I just don't think they're that much better than the freebie cpanel ones because there are too many issues with them eg, (for Radiance)
- lack of links to important pages like the email add account page, as mentioned before
- the text in general is barely readable on bright displays, because it's not black, it's light grey surrounded by other light colors
- huge gap at the top wasting vertical space with a logo that says "ISP Host" (I suppose thats customizable)
- the icons are very 1994 "gif art CD collection". The X/X2 icons seem much nicers and a lot sharper
By the way, how customizable is the Radiance skin .. are we able to change the text color via CSS for example? What about the left hand DHTML menu .. how easily can that menu be changed (links added/removed)?
mhale 02-08-2006, 01:03 AM I think there needs to be a good skin that the user can choose Simple or Advanced mode.
Most cPanel skins out there include way too many confusing features for people who know little about web hosting.
Someone needs to create a good skin that can properly accommodate for these users.
hey no problem, just send me an email and i will he happy to answer any more questions as i don't want to get in trouble for posting here.
- Add Account that is in X2 is just named Pop Email Accounts different name that's all.
- text is all css can be made darker within seconds
- ISP Host is just a sample fully brandable through WHM
- Yes they aren't amazing icons still custom, that's why i offer other skins and the new one coming are 10x better. Take a look at my Trix Pack which came out before X2 they might look like the same icons.. they are both part of a free skin pack available called FauxS.
Skin is fully customizable and all done by css and feature list within cpanel.
This is my last post in this thread as again i don't want mods to think that i am advertising in anyway i was just responding. feel free to email me with other questions and i would be happy to help :)
>> that's why i offer other skins and the new one coming are 10x better.
When are these new skins coming out and can you show us a little preview ? ;)
Tell me, is Radiance 'Feature Manager'-aware ie. if you disable a certain feature in WHM's Feature Manager, does Radiance automatically remove the link/icon to that feature and deny access if a customer tries to manually type in the url to that feature .. By feature I mean something like Addon Domains.
I did post a url to it but mods removed so you would have to contact me.
Yes all skins are feature manager away from within WHM.. please if you have any other questions contact me as i don't want to keep posting in someone elses thread.
