What's the deal with Serverdivision? Did they just suddenly stop answering trouble tickets after an outage or something?

What's the deal with Serverdivision? Did they just suddenly stop answering trouble tickets after an outage or something?

1. They do not answer tickets
2. There is no guarantee that the next time one would be able to reach his site, or log on to the control panel, or even send / receive email.
3. The admin blatantly says that the customers are paying too less and so should not expect to get support for everything.
4. Some users have billing issues. My own query about bills is unanswered - it has been more than 20 days now.

I just wonder why offer something that you cannot support....

That's horrible. I wonder if they'll respond on WHT with their side of the story, if they even have one...

So, anyone else's site been down for the past 4-6 hours or so???
I mean completely down/dead, can't ping, nothing....
Don't know who to go to for support. I don't expect much from this host, but I do expect a site that's up... Their forums are down too now...

iambuddylee

That's probably not a good thing is it....
All I want is 24 hours ftp/db access to clear out the site and I'll be happy. All they have to do is come back up for a day or two... Any ideas who to call or email?

Their site is not down. Windows servers are down for about 4 hours from now

http://support.serverdivision.com/index.php?_m=news&_a=viewnews&newsid=48

I don't know what is actually happening at their end. They should have informed us prior to this.

If the sites are not up within another 4 hours time then we can assume something is bad.

Well i read this post

http://support.serverdivision.com/index.php?_m=news&_a=viewnews&newsid=48

This is a pizza for the clients, eat it if you want to :)

Actually no hosting company will take down all its servers for maintainence even if its a DC move. Also notice that all the servers are in the same DC and the picture is now not funny at all. Sad conclusion is that the DC("The Planet") took them down for some reason.

web_host_guy_007
01-12-2006, 05:39 AM
I think it's all over for Server Division. The servers are down for the last 7 hours or so. I can move but what will happen to websites hosted there. No backup. Nothing. Foolish Guys at Ambient..

I've directly contacted them using the info at http://www.ambientsolutions.com/contact.html and I will update here if I get any reply.

I think Serverdivision can be laid to rest after showcasing the mortal remains at www.serverdivision.com

I just connected to www.serverdivision.com and I saw a nice blue page saying CPanel. Think SD disappeared? or they are changing servers or something like that?

web_host_guy_007
01-12-2006, 06:01 AM
I got a message from one of my customer that sites are down for the last 14-16 hours. So what is stated on the website is false. They didn't paid for the data center and Planet disconnected all the servers. What Nasir told here is correct. It seems like that.

I don't care about server division but lot of customers may not have taken backups. So that will cause problems when they move to a new server.

You are so Right, and if their are SQL databases they may not even have access to a backup in most cases on a shard enviroment. I hope at least clients get their data back.

AlanG
01-12-2006, 08:18 AM
if that's the case i'm screwed. i need to get a recent copy of my db's. what's the chances of theplanet allowing us to get access for a short time just to retrieve data?

i emailed them earlier and am waiting for a response.

iambuddylee
01-12-2006, 08:53 AM
Yeah, all I have is a backup that is about a month old, and a database backup which is about the same. If anyone can figure out what's going on please post it. Also, if The Planet can turn servers on temporarily for a price, let me know what price. That's the first I've seen that news message, no replies from anyone I've contacted so far.

from their site:

UPDATE ON PROGRESS

DEAR ALL

FOR SUPPORT TICKETS WE HAVE JUST GOT MORE STAFF IN TO RESOLVE YOUR ISSUES. WE HOPE TO CLEAR ALL OUTSTANDING
TICKETS WITHIN 8 HOURS NOW. PLEASE RESPECT OUR TICKET SUBMISSION RULES:

There are new rules for submitting a ticket. When you submit a ticket we will need you to place in your full name, domain name and package you have with us or the server you are on. Failure to do this will mean your ticket will be closed. Also sending multiple tickets in to flood the system will mean that all tickets will be closed without a reply.

We are trying to be as efficient as possible with all clients and responses but some of you send in a ticket saying I.E POP3 Down Help!!!!!

This does not help us as we do not know who you are or what domain you are on and which pop3 service is down on what domain. We can not assist you on a matter such as the above so make sure you are clear and precise in what the ticket is about.

FOR SUPPORT TICKETS PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT IF IT IS IMPORTANT AND URGENT. WE HAVE TOO MANY TICKETS OPEN
AND LOTS ARE NON URGENT ISSUES. WE ARE TRYING TO COPE TO GET THE SERVER RESTORED AND SUPPORT WILL
THEN ADDRESS ALL TICKETS. PLEASE NOTE THAT DO NOT SUBMIT MULTIPLE TICKETS ELSE THEY WILL BE DELETED.
WE ARE AWAKE AND HERE BUT PRIORTY IS SHAREDSSL AND THEN THE TICKETS WILL BE ADDRESSED.

Thanks

Rob

Actually, nevermind, I went ahead and called, and no one answered their main line, and the support number said no one can answer your call and you can't leave a message. Greeaaat...

rahouls
01-12-2006, 10:32 AM
Does that mean that SD is no longer supported and they have let it to die and fade off into oblivion? Can something be done to get the data off them and to make sure that Ambient Solutions, the parent company is reported and some action taken ?

iambuddylee
01-12-2006, 10:43 AM
Well, according to the terms and conditions on both Server Division and Ambient website's, in order for them to cancel service, they must give at least a 1 day notice, which doesn't really mean a whole lot, but worst case scenario, I will get my lawyer (it's great to have a buddy that's a lawyer) write up something to send to them. The only thing I don't know is how this will work with them being overseas.

But, I'm still holding out hope that the server will come back online eventually.

I got a reply from Ambient Solutions but they are not very helpful

If it is server giant it will be back online 9AM CST today.

AS Level 3 Tech Support
support@ambientsolutions.com

There is no comment from them regarding Windows Servers.

I think there is some serious problem. None of my customers have any backups and they are crying at me to some how take the backups.

I don't know what to do in this desperate situation.

If they are unable to pay to Planet then they should have informed us and I should have taken alternative steps.

THIS IS TOO BAD.

anyone been following their forums at http://forums.serverdivision.com ? it seems SD thinks that by offering a free month of hosting they are going to wipe out the losses incured by resellers and their customers.

I think their forums speak for themselves. Sounds like you guys need to pack your things and move on. Guys, make suticases yet!
In the next servers down you could not recover neither mails, nor databases, nor anything.

i also have reseller account with ServerDivision, i have paid for 1 year advanced. still my six month hosting is pending with ServerDivision. after first time server down for a week only i decided to change host (as i lost few big clients).

since one month i m with ASPNIX.COM and i can strongly recommend their service and features. they supports ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005 and SmarterMail rocks.

but still i have one issue with them their IP is not anonymous. only from whois information my clients are able to find my actual host.

in whois it displays IP Location: - Colorado - Denver - Anaxa Llc Dba Aspnix

if u don't care about anonymous IP u can have great hosting experience with ASPNIX.COM.

agree with that. I was with SD for a while and things went ugly when some clowns came in and bought out everything, apparently not knowing that there is some customer support involved. I was lucky enough that I lost only a few clients before I moved all my domains to hostingfest.com where I am very pleased with the outstanding service.

I still don't know what the intentions of SD's new owners are but I have never seen such a poor service. And when I cancelled my account with them they even asked my why I want to leave them - this question must have been a joke.

iwebtech

I'm with them for about 6 months. But I only had headackes and problems. Support is very bad. I have support emails that have not been responded since december 2005.

Email is down for all our domains and the web servers a day works and two days doesn't. We had to set-up our own server and transfer our customers on the new server because ServerDivision is history for us from now.

Even a 14 years old kid can administer the servers and problems better than SD. 10 days of email server downtime !!!
