TheRock31,

No, as they're doing it via enom you would then contact enom to regain control of your domains.

Your in good hands with NameCheap. There prices are good, and there support is top-notch. I see them being around many years to come.

They resell Enom and Enom is aware of this.

Based on the information you provide in your WHOIS details.
That's how you prove the ownership of any domain.

Domain names are registered in *your* name (for the most part) and registrars pretty much "host" your registration. They can go under and you will still own your domain names..

They would just go back to enom.com who is the registrar of the domain name. Enom would assign the names to a different reseller or just give you direct access.

If the domains are in the whois protect scheme at namecheap I`m wondering how that would affect regaining of control? The registrants details are surely not available to enom.

Very good point. You would need to show purchase information such as payment receipt or screen capture of your account.

All registrars keep domain registration data internally. Privacy services are mostly
for "cosmetic purposes", but they need to keep the actual info in case sh** hits
the fan.

If the registrar lost that data, it's unbelievable and irresponsible...

Agreed Dave, in this case it would be the reseller who has the info. Enom would not have access to the real registrant information
