View Full Version : A CMS For Hosts?

Hey,

I've been thinking about ways to add value to my service and set my company apart. One thing I keep coming back to is design and content management. I'm thinking it would be cool to offer my customers a bunch of predesigned templates and a content management system that makes use of them. That way I can sell easy site design as well as webspace.

My question is, does anyone know of a Content Management System (preferably GPL) that is friendly on hosts, especially resellers? I'm thinking it would need to have a few files in each user's home or public_html directory (which I would prepopulate using the CPanel skeleton or just upload myself) and then interface with a SQL database. They could then log in at my main domain to make changes and it would make an FTP connection to their folder and upload any needed graphics/files/etc. Seems easy enough to me - I might tackle it myself if nothing's already out there.

If there isn't one already developed like this - would you folks be interested in one? If I do spend the time to code it, I might think about selling it on the cheap just to try and recoup expenses for the time it will take...
