Hi,

This is a CPanel VPS question regarding DNS Zones. Does one have to create a 'DNS zone' for each nameserver and the hostname?
To clarify, for a new VPS with CPanel do I setup DNS records in WHM for
- domain.com
- hostname
-namserver1
-nameserver2
-nameserver3

or just the domain.com? The nameserver and creating hostname setup in the other WHM panel options have been done but i don't know if it is also needed in the DNS.

TIA

You will have to add the A record for your hostname, else you will get the popup everytime you login to your whm.

Yes, besides your domains, you need to add A records for your DNS in your WHM.

The nameservers also need to be registered at your domain registrar end with the respective IP's that you assigned in your WHM.

hi is there anyone around who is proficient and understands settings of DNS Zone can guide me?

I have ns1 and ns2.domain.com and this domain is on the current server. I want to set ns3 and ns4.domain.com as dns for pointing to my other server.

What should I do about it? Can someone guide me what to add step by step? I have already registered this dns with my registrar but am confuse about adding dns and a record entry. I am using cpanel to edit dns zone.

Will appreciate if anyone can help me!
