I'm about to take on maintenance of an existing site which is hosted with FrontPage extensions turned on.
Previous webmaster created and maintained site using FrontPage.
I expect to maintain site with FrontPage2002.
What are my options in most easily copying all the website files to my computer?
-- ask for a CD from previous webmaster?
-- download the files from host to my computer using FTP?
-----I know not to UPLOAD with FTP, but don't know if prohibition is only one way.
-- is there something within the FP app that I can execute to do the download?
I'd prefer CD because this site is very large but don't know if previous webmaster will be cooperative. Need to contact previous webmaster about several turnover issues, but would like to minimize my requests of his time.
Will be first contact and person is 500 miles away.
The site is very large and is for a non-profit and previous webmaster has done the maintenance pro-bono (but not very effectively since moving so far away from our organization).
I do have FP experience from having created web sites, but I have no experience of RECEIVING turnover of an established web site. And the FP how-to books and sites seem only to address creation issues rather than a situation like this.
