Im in the process of designing my hosting site, its design for an 800x600 screen (715px to be precise) and is currently aligned to the left of the page (hence a huge amount of white space to the right).

As it looked rather too white, ive decided to change the bg color from white to grey and add a border round my content. The thing is im now undecided whether i should leave the content up against the left hand side of the browser or centralise it.

Personally im starting to stray towards the center. Are there any pros and cons against putting all the content to the left or centering it???

It depends entirely on the layout. There are some who say left side is where you should always place a site, because that's where someone who reads left to right will naturally feel more comfortable seeing a site (that's just one reason - there are probably others). I don't really buy that, but it's a theory.
