Hello:
I just did an OS RESTORE, and I notice it said COBALT OS RELEASE 6.0. I tried to put the updates on the RaQ, but it did not take.
Does anyone know if the OS RELEASE 6.0 has all the current fixes, and updates included?
Thanks in advance for you help ;)

I just completed a restore from the OS2 and it said the same thing. However, when I started the patches, I started from the earlier patches, the ones that are a prerequiste for OS1 update. I then applied every patch. It has always restored this way for me. It takes about 1/2 a day to do this. I was told this by another person and it seems to work.
good luck!

Hi:
Was this for a RaQ3 or 4?
Thanks

I have RaQ3s that I use RaQ4 restores on. It really does not matter if it is a RaQ3 or RaQ4. Generally, I have seen that it is recommended that if you have a RaQ3, then use RaQ4 restore software.
However, if you contact Sun, you must tell them that you have a RaQ4 as the Control Panel and other ui's are different from the RaQ3.
The reason that I use RaQ4 software to restore a RaQ3 appliance is for performance and some of the ui's.
As for the list, no, the OS Restore 2 CD does not have all the current patches or fixes. That is why it was "recommended" to me to start from the beginnning. :D

Thanks.
Now, do you know why it says os restore 6, when an OS Restore is complete? I tried using OS RESTORE CD for Raq4 on the 3, but I kept seeing errors on the screen when booting from the Lap Top.

OS Restore 6 is simply a name. The errors that occur when you boot up the cd is normal and to be ignored. That caught me the first time I restored a RaQ.
Hang in there, it will get easier!
