Hi everyone I have an idea for a website that I want to do. The problem is I want to build it myself starting out, but I do not know what sitebuilder to use. There are so many choices out there like citymax, or godaddy's website tonite. Can anyone recommend a sitebuilder and hosting company.
Thank you

There are many hosting provider who have online tools for building a simple home page which does not require much skills. However, if you want to have a really good looking site then you might need someone professional to take care of it for you.

On the other hand there are some nice visual editors for creating simple and good looking websites in pure html format. Here is one such editor which I personally like http://nvu.com/

you can create a local copy of the site then upload it via ftp to your web-host. For ftp you can use an ftp client like http://coreftp.org/ I do remember there is an How-to about ftp posted somewhere on WHT you might want to search there.

You can use godaddy to register your domain and find a decent host doing some search. This is all and you can have a website. There is not much to it really.

Would not recommend godaddy for hosting though.

What is your web design skill level? If you are comfortable with HTML then I highly recommend NVU as well. If you're not, check out a program like 'Web Page Maker V2'. It's my favorite because it's the easiest editor I've used and is still capable of pro results. You could use an online site builder but those usually look kinda generic and have limited editing options. As far as web hosts go, I'm with Real Web Host and have been very pleased.
