I registered a .us name with ENOM. I realy wanted the name so I preregistered with 4 registrars. Unfortunately for me, ENOM won out. I'm glad to get the name, but I still can't use it.

Their system will not allow me to change the name servers. After a zillion email and phone calls, I finally got through last Friday (4/26). They said their .us system is down.

Well, it's the end of the day Monday and I still can't use my name because I still can't change the nameservers.

Somehow they don't think it required that they atually answer my emails or phone calls. Nor do they think it important to provide some method to put in a trouble ticket like most of the big registrars.

Nor are they able to post on their website an explaination of what is going on, and what to expect. No mass email to .us customers either.

Doesn't sound like they are interested in my business. Does anyone know if .us names can be transferred yet?

No names can be transferred in the first 60 days of registration by Registry rule.

After the 60 days goes by, .us names can be transferred, but you have to have the domain auth code. I'm not sure where you get this from eNom. In the OpenSRS Domain Manager, it's available in the "Domain Extras" section.

For what it's worth, I just got a response from them saying that they are having troubles switching DNS to USER defined and that they should have it fixed in the next week.

I had no problems changing nameservers for a .US domain with Registerfly.com - they are a eNOM reseller.

That's not fair! :D

I keep getting an error and their support basically told me I'm outta luck for a while. Oh well, I don't have the sites developed yet, or even close for that matter anyway so am not in much of a hurry. I'll definitely transfer away from them ASAP though.

If you didn't write so well I'd swear you were from Verisign.. LOL

We had no troubles at all.. the only thing that was a problem was pushing domains from one enom account to another, but beyond that we were able to configure them just fine.. lot's of them..

Must just be your unlucky month..

Seems to be working just fine now. I had no problem changing the nameservers in my .US domains this morning.
