Thanks for the tip Kiwi.

The question was already asked in their helpdesk system, but when you see that one of your IP's is going to a porn site and in Canada is 2 AM (obviously the guys are sleeping) and the customers are a little bit nervous, I prefer to ask in other places in order to know how much it will take until things are fine.

1. Helpdesk ticket opened 10 hours ago.
2. Answer received after 5 hours (I repeat, the server is down, no WHM, CPanel, mail services, MySQL, just a very poor http) with some short explanation (server backup used, everything OK now).
3. Ticket re-opened. In the same time I called one of the staff members on his mobile and left a message.
4. Nothing (good) happened yet, and I would like to know what time-horizon I should give to my clients.

I am one of the first clients and used to be the first to tell their service was good. Unfortunately I am also between the first clients to say that their service is poor (this is what I understand when the server is down for more then 10 hours without a correct explanation and no staff member is alerted when the server stops functioning).

Hope that their problems will not persist, since their offer is very competitive.

Hello,

Would you be so kind to email me with the IP that is going to a porn site?

Also, responses were made to each ticket, and yes there were some server issues. Spammer, and run away scripts, ultimatebb.cgi

10 hours? Highly untrue.

It was brought back up within 25 minutes, and then was yet, taken down again.

You are right. The HTPP was up, but I couldn't access my sites via FTP, WHM was not accesible, mail services were down and finally the HTTP was once again down 8 hours after the initial problems arised.

I've sent you a PM.

realy? Is this true? I have had no problems with pixelseven.com so far! Except for the fact that my whm has a bug in it! But sean assured me this will be fixed and that pixelseven.com is not responsible for the error :)

I assure you it is true. Usually I don't lie.

Excepting the recent problems, I have chronic DNS problems for my sites, problems which are NOT present for the domains hosted on another reseller package with another provider/datacenter.

These problems are 3 weeks old and I already lost 4 customers due to this fact.

All of this is exactly why people should not recommend a host until they've tried it for at least a few months. Otherwise, you're being unfair to readers of WHT.

I'm also a customer of Pixelseven and I didn't had any real problems yet.

The people try to offer a good product !

Please go to www.dnsreport.com and check one of my domains (www.romedchim.ro) and you will see what I am talking about.

You can also check Pattox's site (www.hostedge.net) and you will understand better when you compare the results.

Some of the DNS problems have vanished.

Hope that everything will start to work now. We'll see.

1. Ticket times are slower at night, speedy during the day.
2. Strange, I don't know which server you are on, however currently the server that I am on is down (reboot). My server worked fine yesterday (ftp/whm/cpanel/etc).
3. Where did you get the #? :D

Well, I'm having some problems now, however I still recommend them, 'cos their servers are fast, there was no downtime in the past 30 days AND sean is quick to reply and keeps you up to date as to what goes on. And come on, it's CHEAP too.

Another host I'm with hasn't even acknowledge my ticket for the past... ehm.... 20-something hours (and it's a billing question: I want to pay them! lol)

You are right.

1. Pixel seven has a good price. But it is with this price that he attracts new customers not offering the same price as established competitors.

2. I have called Sean because:
- the server was down Monday at 9.30 AM local hour which is not the same as Monday evening or Sunday I hope you will agree;
- on the other hand I have called 2 times the phone number from his web site and both thimes there was a answering machine. I can understand the first time but the second one was at 8 PM local hour (GMT +2).

This is the first major "crisis" at pixelseven and I have decided to split my accounts on 4 reseller packages in order to minimize the risks.

1 - I'm not quite sure what you are saying, but I think you're saying it attracts customers who don't know what they do, causing problems? Is that it?

2 - :) Local hour doesn't mean much to me, unless you're also in Canada (ontario).

But in all honesty, Sean's been very helpfull with a little issue I'm having which is mostly my fault... one tip to you all : Don't do things while you are half asleep... :D

Perhaps less arrogance in your approach would be better dhabets. But this comes with the age.

If you don't know the significance of GMT please do a search in Google.

BTW, the server is once again down since 45 minutes and I'll let you know when it's up (www.romedchim.ro is hosted there, just for checking).

Update: things are back to normal after a downtime of 5 hours.

yes it's down but its not cause of pixelseven.com i have experienced no dowtime whatsoever whilst i was with them. However the reason my site is down is that i have decided to leave pixelseven.com and i have moved to my own dedicated server.I couldnt have been happier with my service at p7 tho sean is a nice guy and respons quickly.

Thnx

I didn't mean to sound arrogant, but I just didn't (and still don't) understand what you were trying to say with
"Pixel seven has a good price. But it is with this price that he attracts new customers not offering the same price as established competitors." I think you are saying that those customers oversell aggressively and attract a kind of customer that wants everything for nothing -> resulting in server problems? Something like that?

It was my fault about the time thing (I skipped over GMT)....

Of course after the age thing I had to check your profile (because I felt old after recently moving from 'early twenties' to 'late twenties'), but I'll shut up now... hehe :D

Dhabets!

What I mean (sorry for my english) is that when you are launching a product/service which has almost the same characteristics as those of your older competitors, you use the price as one of the pieces of your marketing campaign.

But if you want that your clients stick with your company you have also to provide a comparable quality service (in this case uptime).

I am not the kind of customer which leaves after the first problems and I have no intention actually to move from Pixelseven (I will only move some of my clients on other reseller packages I actually have that's all). But I expect something in return, at least solid and documented explanations for the problems, thing that it seems that has already happened.

Have a nice weekend.
