HELP ME PLEASE!

I've just signed up otakuboard.com for Nodehosting.com. But it's been nearly a week and even though WHOIS says the domain otakuboard.com has resolved to nodehosting's servers, it gives me this message:

Address lookup
lookup failed otakuboard.com
Host not found

My domain registrar (BulkRegister) says to contact my host because the problem is not theirs, but I can see my site via IP ( 65.118.100.175 ).

What has happened? Where does the problem lie? Can somebody help me?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

I tried to transfer to a new registrar just to test if it really is the registrar's fault and not the host and Stargate says:

"At this time, your current registrar’s Whois information is not accessible. Due to this, we are unable to proceed with your transfer request at this time. Please resubmit your transfer request at another time. Thank you."

What is going on???

Long time no see.

Ok might be your host don't have a reverse lookup on the nameservers, they haven't edited their /etc/hosts file or edited their Nameservers records basicly, very un professional.

There are several systems out there, each has it own configuratiobn, but in most hosts, for reverse lookup editing /etc/hosts and make the server listen for that nameserver ip should do.

So bulkregister is right.

Your name seems to be missing from nodehosting's name servers. I would contact their support and explain to them what is happening, they can surely take care of it quickly for you. I don't believe it is the fault of bulk-register as the nameservers are listed just fine in the whois information.

Good luck.

I got a reply from the host, they apparently misspelled the DNS. Thank you so much for the inputs. The problem is pretty new to me... whew!

btw, how long does this thing get fixed? Does it have to wait for the domain database to update again before the changes are reflected?

Thanks!

This was on our end, we transposed two letters when putting this domain into the DNS. We are very sorry for this, but we do take responisbility on this.

The problem should be resolved immediately, as the domain is propogated already. You should be seeing your site now. If not, let us know immediately.
