View Full Version : Toll Free number (1-800 phone number) service
KuJaX 12-31-2005, 02:05 AM I know that one of the first things people are going to say is "use the search function" but I have already read through many pages about toll free phone number service providers, but cannot seem to find the "right" provider for me.
I have a small business with just myself and one other person that run it. We want to promote our 1800 number for our customers to call us for generally sales related questions, but there also may be support type questions.
I have been to many websites such as freedomvoice and vonage.
In all honesty, we do not expect to get many phone calls on our 1800 phone number. Maybe actual talk time of a few hours a month (120 minutes or so a month to begin.) I see many of these services run around $50 or so a month and I would imagine we just need something extremely simple where we only pay around 3 cents a minute.
For those of you that use freedomvoice, how do you like their system? What other company's provide such services like virtual offices? I was thinking that maybe if it is only a little bit more to use freedomvoice instead of just "forwarding" a 1800 number to a cell phone number or home phone, but freedomvoice seems to be pretty expensive and has some pretty rediculous setup fee's.
discuss who you have had, and who you recommend and why :)
MarkioE 12-31-2005, 04:40 AM I haven't used freedomvoice before. But I think I will. Looks very promising :D
beruska 12-31-2005, 04:57 AM Hello KuJaX,
we've customers who are using nufone.net for Toll Free services. There offer Toll Free numbers with $0.02/min and no monthly fee.
Cheers,
Beruska
PalSys 12-31-2005, 06:45 AM We are using kall8.net...they have been fine so far.
f9-Alex 12-31-2005, 08:39 AM Kall8 is pricy, but very good. No monthly fee.
Edit: Sorry, there is a $2 monthly charge for the number.
webair-gene 12-31-2005, 08:40 AM I second kall8, very good service, we have a toll free # from them that we forward to a pbx, check out their virtual calling card, it lets you place calls using your toll free #, looks really good when calling clients ;)
Corey Bryant 12-31-2005, 11:49 AM We have actually been using Freedom Voice for almost two years now. Their system is fantastic. They might be a bit more expensive than some of the other toll-free virtual solutions, but they are well worth it. We have not had any technical problems with them whatsoever.
They are always adding new features without adding additional costs. We have their highest plan ($29.95) and pay $19.95 a month. The Weblink feature they have is fantastic and it has saved me a few times (when I accidentally delete an email with the voice mail attached).

have bin using the same survice and it works fine for me
Plexi_Hosting 12-31-2005, 01:11 PM Haven't publicized the number yet, but we're using tollfreeexpress.com and the service is great. The people were helpful, unfortunately I needed helpful people since their web interface isn't great. Aside from that, it is great for the price.
Trophimus 12-31-2005, 01:53 PM Greetings!
I have been with Ring Central, a little over 1 1/2 years now and I am very pleased with there service. We have received almost 100% Uptime, and the Customer Support we receive is wonderful! The pricing is also great.
I highly recommend them, www.ringcentral.com.
Happy New Year,
Corey Bryant 12-31-2005, 06:11 PM BTW the set-up cost is only $25.00 - not that expensive. (Sorry I did not address that in the previous message)
KuJaX 12-31-2005, 06:27 PM I am only going to be using 100 to 200 minutes to begin with (probably for atleast 6 months) and I have noticed that kall8 and freedomvoice have many monthly charges, like monthly charges for their 1800 number that they give you and should be "standard" features such as business open/closed messages.
I figured that if I added the features that I feel I would need, I would be paying more than .18 cents a minute with FreedomVoice which just isnt worth it imo.
thetopguy 12-31-2005, 06:33 PM We use them as well and have been very happy. We have referred some people as well over to them and have recieved a free month. I almost signed up as a reseller but did not think that it fit well into my business plan. I actually signed up with Loud Voice System (http://www.loudvoicesystem.com/) who is a reseller.
If you are interested in becoming a reseller, I suggest you contact them and ask them some questions on Freedom Voice's reseller plan.
I have only had to contact their support once because I accidentally hit one button when listening to a message and I messed up my outgoing message. They were extremely helpful and even fixed it themselves.
Actually the maximum you would pay is about 11.3 cents (http://www.loud800.com/rates.asp) a minutes but on the 250 plan, you would pay 11 cents a minute. True some companies are cheaper, but Freedom Voice has added about 5 new features and they have not charged us anything extra for them.
dynamicnet 12-31-2005, 07:09 PM Greetings:
We recommend kall8.com
Thank you.
stefaans 12-31-2005, 08:12 PM We have been using angel.com (http://angel.com) for just over two years. Their service has been great. Angel.com offerers a lot of flexibility that the other don't. But that flexibility comes at a price (around $60 and more per month).
We are in the process of switching to RingCentral (http://www.ringcentral.com) right now to simplify our phone system (and save a few pennies). Still early days, but I have found RingCentral to be a first class service with very responsive support :gthumb:
DGCHOST 12-31-2005, 11:55 PM Here is an excellent system. www.tollfreelive.com - They offer a great web interface and great pricing!

Curious if you use this company right now. Why do you recommend them?

I remember when angel first came out...
it seems that they have forgotten thier roots with not offering plans geared to startup companies and focusing on Enterprise level accounts.
It is a shame, I really loved the interface but there is no way I am paying their prices . they dont even offer fax services, you have to buy a VERY VERY expensive add on for that
i too am looking in to Ring Centeral, 2 of the biggest things I like about them is they include minutes with your monthy service charge, and they dont do double leg billing like Freedomvoice does.
aingaran 01-03-2006, 08:37 AM How come noone has mentioned Telcan.net? $2.00 a month for the line and only $0.045/Minute.
