Do the people on this board find better service (reliable service, etc.) when they pay more than $7 to $10 bucks for hosting?
I'm starting the cheap hosting companies fall pray to "you get what you pay for" type deal.

I think when you dip below what is reasonable, you stand a greater chance and being disappointed. While there is no one 'price' for web hosting services, there is a cost of providing this type of service and if the host isn't charging you a reasonable amount, it stands to reason that they won't be able to provide you the level of service you might expect.
What's reasonable depends on many things, however as an extreme, the $1 for for unlimited everything hosts are a good example of what can't possibly be provided for $1.

It really all depends.. If a host is offering say 10 megs for 3 bucks a month of something they really may be ok and this is just the type of market they are looking for.. If you are looking for 100 megs of more I would try and stay around or above 6 bucks or so.. Most of the time you do get what you pay for" but there are some companies that just target that 5 dollar and under market and are really in it for the long run..
