Anyone know ChamberGates? Any reviews?

I know this a year-old thread, but I'd really like some feedback. Currently, I know about five site owners who are with chambergates' Bronze plan (check http://www.chambergates.com/Products/Compare.htm for comparison chart), actually do approach the 50 GB mark, and have not been told to leave. However, $9.95/month/quarterly seems a little too nice on the wallet (despite the initial $25.95 setup fee).

I'd like 1) to have personal testimonials and 2) too good to be true?

9.95 seems pretty good deal. Since you know 5 others who are with them, why don't you base it on their feedback? :) There's very little to lose at that price.

At the end of the day, you can always update this thread to give us feedback... your feedback :)

Sigh... I know... I should but then I look at the setup fee and I get all downtroddened. LOL. And I have to pay 9.95 quarterly, which means that all at once, I'm dishing out $50. :crap:

You should really look eleswhere.

$9.95 for 50 gigs of tranfer? Try using that for a couple months or less and see what happens. $24.95 setup fee on a shared server. NOT!

See, I don't agree with that setup fee either, but I do know people who host archives on their servers, and do get close to 50 gigs, and surprisingly haven't been warned to upgrade (or have their sites shutdown). The only reason I'm even considering chambergates is because of these people's testimonies. Here's an example: http://www.zetsuai.com/ I've contacted the site owner asking about their bandwidth usage (I'm interested in creating a similar kind of website), and they use around 100GB. And as you can see, they're still being hosted there... :confused:

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I'm not too concerned. As you can probably tell, all I need is cheap bandwidth for hosting files... Don't really need the extras... I know the whole story about getting what you pay for, but I'm a poor university student with an expensive hobby... :(

If you are in for the long haul, consider the setup fee as part of your monthly fee. For example most places would charge you more than $24.95 monthly just for 50GB. So theoretically, you can recoup that in just a month.

I figure you are into anime. (btw... do you know what zetsuai means :D)

If you just need it for files, I don't see a problem.... You got feedback from 5 actual users of their service. If that's not good enough, I doubt any comments from non-users on this forum is going to be of any consequence.
