Web.Com <('_')>
Let me post my experience with Web.com.
I'm sorry to say (for a good reason) that because I on't know who you are I can't post my website adress. But for about to years I have been using web.com and I am ready to switch. The support is great, and my website has never been down. However, I have experience other problems, so my website just might-as-well be down and it wouldn't make a difference.
At the moment my FTP doesn't work. That's even worse for me because I host a few sites for my friends, my dad, and of course, MY website. I was working on a new website for my dad and I was getting SO far. I started transfering a CMS, e107 to be exact (long live e107!!), when all of the sudden it stopped. I tried other FTP applications, like Wise FTP, and that mozilla thing... I think that's what it was. I even tries FTPing with DOS and it gave me an error message that told me it couldn't connect. Since you can probably imagine (or have experience) the horrors of not having FTP, I'll talk about another problem. In the past, I had an old account, whitch had changed. I HADN'T BEEN TOLD that it had been changed, so I was stuck with an old control panel with a bad forum and horrible scripts. I called web.com one day when I was trying to figure out why PHP wouldn't install and why I couldn't use MySQL and they told me. I was fine with that, because I had a better control panel and better scripts, like PHPbb and IPB, etc.
Another problem I had recently experienced, involved my grandad's website (My dad's idea, not mine!), also hosted on web.com. Web.com is now migrating websites I guese to make them better. The forums, which I have no idea why I put that on a Senior Citezen's website, were IPB. When it was migrated, somehow it either got rid of the database or the forums. The forums link went to a MySQL error, so I guesse it was the database. When I tried installing phpBB, it gave me a URL to the forum that didn't work. I'll give you an update if anything else happens. The billing period is almost here, what a great time to switch!

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, have you contacted their support about your problems and their customer response center about any of your thoughts and concerns also? Even if you haven't, it's always a great time to switch.. WHT is very resourceful, so go and take a younder around the forums and look at the different reviews and offers. ;) good luck!

Web.com was recently acquired by Interland. That's the probably the reason for the migration of web sites.

I take it Interland still hasn't learned the art of migrating after acquiring a company. I guess they will never learn.

Good luck on finding a new host.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'll continue to look around the site.
For a while, actually, I was considering 1and1.com. I searched around on this website, though, and found a lot of negativity about 1and1. I actually had a Developer's website with them, developers view (This space is here ecause I can't post links here!) .net - but in a short ammount of time I realised that the site wasn't getting any visitors other than me (maybey 10). It was only up for a short ammount of time, but I didn't really have any problems with the site or Tech Support. I'll continue to consider it, taking into account that I had a fairly good experience with them.
*OFF TOPIC, BUT...*
5th post! w00t! Finally, I'm able to post that smiley that says "I <3 WHT!"

I am hosting few sites with 1&1 without any problem from last four months. There reliable service with resonable pricing with so many add on features is the main reason why I selected them initially.

What led me to 1and1.com was when I was on a really cool developers site and they were, at the time, uploading files. I clicked a link that didn't work yet, and it gave me a 1and1.com error. Thank God for developers forgetting to uploa a page!

Ok. I decided to go with 1and1.
I'm confident that my previous experience with them will be the same.

I had the same thinkg with Web.com. They were doing well untill Interland took them over. Since then, everything has gone way down hill. Loss of service, loss of functionality, loss of my site and name registration records, the list goes on. Interland gets an "F".

These kinds of threads always pop up every time a company is acquired by another company, it's sad really how these companies never learn the proper way even after so many horrible stories of other companies.

I hope you find a better host that meets your needs :)
