I currently have a few websites on a dedicated server, one being www.directrotonews.com (not mine so I have no clue what roto is or whatever). It seems something is wrong with my name server. If I ping www.directrotonews.com it resolves to 66.227.5.140, which is good becuase that is where it should be. If I type in the IP addy into my browser, my site pops up (right now its down and I have a html file that just says hi). When I type in directrotonews.com that is fine also, but when I type in www in front, for some reason the log in for the control panel comes up. I do not want people to see a log in for Ensim when they go to my site, so why does it show up when I add the prefix? Many people (in fact pretty much the majority) put the www in front of where ever they are going to.
None of my other websites do this on the same server though.
add to zone file:www.directrotonews.com. IN CNAME directrotonews.com.

ftp.drumcorpsforum.com Address (A) 66.227.5.142
mail.drumcorpsforum.com Address (A) 66.227.5.142
www.drumcorpsforum.com Address (A) 66.227.5.142
www.directrotonews.com Address (A) 66.227.5.140It is supposted to be a CNAME, not an A record.
A recods **should** also work but not in all cases.
Just try the CNAME (while adding it remove www.directrotonews.com Address (A) 66.227.5.140)

ok that didnt work at all.
ensim wont let me delete the a record for www.directrotonews.com
so i tried to just create an alias and that didnt work becuase it already had an a record for that host
and I do not have root access via ssh yet as my host hasnt told me how to get that way, but I do have ssh access in via the users I create, but they are restricted to theirfolders only.
