If so, what's your take on it? How did you have it configured? Which OS? Do you know if FreeBSD 4.5 runs OK on it?
What's it good for, in your opinion? Web/mail/DNS/not much?
What would you put on it?
Thanks,
Louis

They are outright awesome and very very stable servers
We have 4 of them online, and we run RH 7.2 on them. solid uptime on them, we got 2 hard drives, 2nd rsynced nightly etc...
2 machines we got P3 850's in them, 1 with 1 gig ECC ram, 1 with 1 gig NON-ECC ram, standard compusa video card.....
other machines are running 750's with 512 mb ram.....

Interesting!
On Intel's web site, they only mention the ISP1100 is "good for" up to 700 MHZ chips. Nice to know faster chips run ok.
How many sites and what kind of server load/bandwidth or whatever does the ISP1100 handle OK? Can you RAID two disk OK? Any SCSI disk experience with the ISP1100?
Thanks again!

with an updated bios u can use a larger cpu up to 850 with a heat sink / fan
we dont have raid on the, but prob it can be easily done
we have up to 300 sites on each server load stays below 1.0 (which is worthless to you since every machine is different)
I wouldnt recommend scsi drives in them, i think its IDE only
Intel is very strick on what they allow in their machines and even have a list that you can dig up on their site that says whats been tested and is recommended on their machines

Intel refer's to a special "air baffle" if using the P3-850 chip. Where did you get this or did it come with your server? Are they referring to that gray styrofoam thingy along side the PS?
Thanks!

i think they are or it its that large cover you find in some computers / servers that cover the cpu to like the fans or whatever..........we couldnt find one, so if you do more digging you will find an alternate is a heat sink with a fan on it, we bought both fans from rackmountpro.com, they were the ones exported from japan and area like $30.00 each, keeps the cpus very cool
(we ran them here for like 3 days with various amounts of load and they stayed very cool)
