View Full Version : Finding a suitable server

Hi,

I have no idea about dedicated servers, however it is time for me to move up in the world and get one. Since the new year I have been booted off 3 virtual servers due to excessive use of sever resources, and I have no choice but to go dedicated.

My website receives about 1,500 hits/day but it is very CGI intense, which is why I keep having my accounts removed.

What I would like to know is, what kind of server specs should I be looking for (for a site which uses a lot of CGI)?

Because I've only just outgrown virtual server accounts that cost about $25/mo, I'd prefer not to have to pay a fortune for a dedicated server with more specifications than I'd ever use or need. Can anyone suggest a company with reasonable pricing that would have a server that would suit my needs?

Thankyou,
Mandi

I would suggest since your new to go with a dedicated server with a control panel like plesk or a cobalt raq.
