Hi,

We are looking to setup an internet merchant account to process credit card orders. Most likely we'll be using VeriSign's Payflow Pro system. After talking with a rep, they gave me rates from Merchant E-Solutions, who they work with. Here were the numbers:
Set up fee waived
Visa/MasterCard discount rate: 2.30%.
Visa/MasterCard transaction fee: $0.30.
Minimum monthly discount rate Charged: $25.00.
Monthly service fee: $10.00.
Web reporting: no charge.
Non-Visa/MasterCard transaction fees: $0.30.
Downgrade fees:0.80%for mid-qualified and 1.30%for non-qualified Visa and MasterCard transactions.
Chargeback fee: $20.00.
ACH Reject Fees: $10.00

Does anyone know of a better deal or is this worth looking into? I'm not concerned with ACH reject fees as we don't need that, but is a $20 chargeback fee about normal? Also, what do the downgrade fees mean, and when do they apply?

Thanks,

Mark

Would you link their site?

Seems like a real good deal to me, as long as your volume is enough where your discount fees are close to or above $25. Otherwise, you will be paying $35 a month which seems a little higher than others I've seen.

The $20 chargeback fee is pretty standard.

Here's the company site:

I got the numbers from VeriSign as part of their Commerce Site Pro package, so I'm not sure if there regular rates are higher or not.

Could you explain what the downgrade fees, etc are?

Thanks,

Mark

With Echo-inc.com, I only pay 1 time setup fee and $10 monthly for recurring charges and that's it. Their rate is %2.49 + 30 cents. If you use internet gateway for internet transaction, 18 cents will be applied to each transaction. Great 24/7 live service as well. :)
