Hello

i am a newbie in webmastyering and i am bout to throw my website online, it will feature a lot of new that i intend to update every week. I would like to know if to update the news pages on my website i will have to ftp down and up my pages all the time?
I mean will i have to download teh page, modify the source with new info and then upload it back?

Is theer any other way to do that?

Just modify the pages on your computer and re-upload them, over-writing the existing pages.

Or you could use a script like b2 ( http://www.cafelog.com i think) or Somery (http://somery.spiritia.net) and modify it into the appearance you want.
note that this requires PHP & 1 MySQL Database

You could have a go at installing a news script:

http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/News_Publishing/

That way it'll only be a matter of logging into a small control panel and typing out the news.

I just set up a similar type of web site and I used a script called phpWebThings. You can find it at www.phpdbform.com (http://www.phpdbform.com). It's very easy to install and convenient to use.

newspro is good and you can customize it easily if you know CGI/HTML. :)
