Hi all,
We are an e-commerce company recently emplementing Verified by visa. What we heard in internet is that when the card holder is enrolled for visa then the customer will be prompted to enter password and they will be liable for the purchase. But the values returned by the visa are confusing.
The enrolled status shows 'YES' but the 3DS verification status shows 'The card issuer does not support 3D-Secure. No liabilty shift occurred'. The 3D status shows "Attempted Authentication".. I mean the return values are conflicting each other.. What does it really means.. Do anyone have idea of it..How can these statuses help us. We are not sure what "No liabilty shift occurred" and whether it asked for password or didnot. Or whether the customer didnot enter password..

Please help
Thanks
Nawaz

There is a rep from Cardinal Commerce who is active in the forums and is very knowledgable on VbyB and SecureCode. He might be able to shed some light on this.

Where are you seeing this response. As an international merchant I need to clear up some things before I can explain this situation.

The only i can say about VERIFIED BY VISA, is...every time a few customers have to make me a payment, they cant, and they are already registered in VERIFIED BY VISA with the correct password.....then they make a payment using paypal.....

Is the bank's ACS timing out, which would produce an error message?

I dont know if the problem is with visa, or the bank, but they always have to pay with another credit card via 2chekout or paypal....the error they receive is that the site ( 2checkout ) can not connect to VERIFIED BY VISA......

Hi cardinal corp, friday is the offficial leave here in middleeast.. so why i couldnot reply immediately.
These responses i see from the post back values from our bank. These values, we are getting directly from migs.mastercard.au..

The parameter 3-D Secure VERes.enrolled = Y shows that enrolled status is Yes.. It also says that the payment processor attempted authentication..
But we are not sure, if the Vby asked for password or it didnot.. Or it did asked for password and the customer did not enter it.

This is not clear from the VISA manuals provided to us..

Thanks
