What is the difference between ns1 and dns1 while assigning nameservers for a domain?
I have an old reseller account with a host and I am selling virtual hosting accounts to my clients from this account, they are using the following name server to access their site.
ns1.myname.com 119.201.214.112
ns2.myname.com 119.201.214.113
Now I have purchased a new [second] reseller account from a different host, and wants to sell plans from this server, so I have assigned 2 more new nameservers to my domain as follows. Here I am using dns1 Instead of ns1 and the same domain but the new IP addresses provided by my new reseller:
dns1.myname.com 64.157.52.101
dns2.myname.com 64.157.52.102
When I create a virtual host for one of my client on the new server, I will tell them to point their domain nameserver to the dns1...... same as if I sell a plan on my old server they will use the ns1.... nameserver
Is this the solution? Will it work? any suggestions please?
