as you may have noticed a few weeks before i inquired about cheap, reliable, and easily configurable registrar.

a lot of you suggested godaddy, stargate, and namecheap.

i went with namecheap. i was attracted to the fast technical support i received from namecheap, namely from Rick. and of course, it was cheap.

i am NOT affiliated with namecheap. this is just a thank you to namecheap for helping me move out of namezero.

and also an aid to people who can't afford much. it is cheap with all the free tools you need to start out. my basic need is email addressing for my family. it allowed me email forwarding. as soon as my hosting with another cheap host will become active, my family can have our own pop3 email.

oh yeah, this is also an opinion to those who don't want to use their credit card to pay online. i used paypal. thus, i don't have to keep on divulging my credit card.

i modified my whois data. in a matter of less than 10 seconds, it changed already. with namezero before, it took weeks to months for my family's domain name whois to change.

thank you to those who helped me. this is a great community. i have never enjoyed reading forums before until now.

Looks good mate ! I was using registerfly.com but the service is shocking basically, so I think i will go with namecheap now ... I like the paypal payments as well...stops the wive going mental when she looks at the credit card statement heheheh

... that they rule! I have several domains with them and what is the most amazing is that they give you free DNS services which you normally pay for or have to cope with mydomain.com

This thread is a bit old but.... :)

NameCheap is my #1 registrar too. :)

But I will start a new thread asking about PowerPipe. I've heard about it a lot but I would like to hear more opinions. I just like having options (in case there is a problem with NameCheap- although every time I've contacted support, they've been AWESOME). :)

Jessica :)

Yeah RICK is the one talk too! Fast and cheap with dns entries. I have 22 domains with him.

Why not sign up for a reseller account with one of the larger registrars and then get cheaper prices that way? No point making someone else money when you can make it yourself...

Well, my friends want me to start a reselling business here in my country. No one has ventured yet on a reselling business.

But for my family's domain as of now, I like how Rick was quick and helpful in explaining and setting up the domain.

By the way, I noticed that whatever changes I do on my domain, it gets reflected immediately over the internet. Now that is fast propagation. :)

I will still let Rick take care of my domain. Without him, my parents won't probably have their own email addresses. This is the reason they aren't bugging me now to call them all the time. Hahaha!

I must also agree Namecheap is great. Fast service, great support, low prices. Any time I have needed technical support Rick has been right there responding within an hour everytime.
