I am thinking about creating a funny video download site. Is there a script which I can use for this purpose which would make adding, displaying, downloading videos easier ?

You could always use a kind of cms-system (like mambo, phpnuke, postnuke, ...). Those always have a download-module (and much other modules) included.

however if you want to have a standalone download-script you should have a look at hotscripts.com . They have lots of custum scripts.
