View Full Version : IntelloDesk - Loving it EVEN IN BETA!
Senad 12-14-2005, 10:12 PM I purchased IntelloDesk due to the incredible offer they have and I must say that so far I'm very please not to have missed out on it like I did with Kayako and Cerebus. I've tried kayako and cerebus as well but for some reason the cost and the look didn't appeal much to me.
This month I decided to start searching for a support center for my clientbase and I was pretty much stuck between cerebus and kayako (what other good options are there right :D?)...until I saw an ad on IntelloDesk. I took a look and I was pretty impressed.
Right now it's in beta and it has a few bugs but I really want to say that it is one of the nicest support centers I've tried. Not only that but I have to give a hands down reward of excellent customer service to the staff. They are very active and are working very hard coding and fixing up any bugs to release it out of Beta. So far I'm very impressed and I can only highly recommend them for their support and quality product that they have created up till now. With time I can see this as being the prime support desk. So basically I felt that I should share my experience and that hopefully others won't pass by such a good thing (especially with the price it is at now).
I'll keep you updated once it comes out of beta and as time progresses of course but right now it is looking like a very good peice of software :).
David 12-30-2005, 03:22 AM Senad,
I'm also pretty impressed so far.
It's very nice.
ihostdev 12-30-2005, 04:19 AM what all bugs are there so far? we are planning on making a purchase today.
ANMMark 12-30-2005, 05:00 AM First, let me thank you for all of your kind words.
what all bugs are there so far? we are planning on making a purchase today.
In the latest release there have been 0 bug reports so far, and we're going on approx 3 days since the release of the latest build. If you were familiar customers, you'll know that our customers are very helpful and eager to point out any issues right away.
Bilco105 12-30-2005, 10:18 AM Thats good news, just a shame theres still no website, plus the pricetag, $600 - I can't see that beating the likes of cerberus to the touch line.
What makes your software worth the additional $300? -- Maybe some form of comparison document would be an idea.
BoggeRs 12-30-2005, 12:29 PM Thats good news, just a shame theres still no website, plus the pricetag, $600 - I can't see that beating the likes of cerberus to the touch line.

check the offers and you can get it for 59.....
I have to try the latest build... so we shall see
freebase 12-30-2005, 01:34 PM The coupon provided on the site doesn't actually work.. anyone else having better luck with this?
ANMMark 12-30-2005, 01:48 PM The coupon is IDHOLIDAY
It is posted in WHT offers as BoggeRs has stated.
Thats good news, just a shame theres still no website, plus the pricetag, $600 - I can't see that beating the likes of cerberus to the touch line.
Well, we already are in fact. Multiple clients of ours have switched from Cerberus already. We do have a site, and in fact we're working on a new one.
Also Robert, this is not a sales thread. I'd prefer you direct any sales questions to our Sales team.
niyogi 01-01-2006, 06:04 AM Very good stuff - just waiting for it to be released in stable and we'll definitely be moving to it from our quite heterogeneous setup that we have so far (SupportTrio, Lpanel, ClientExec, etc)
Roj
mrzippy 01-01-2006, 06:27 PM Yes, we've been running it for a week now in a private "customer testing" situation, and so far our clients like it a lot.
ANMMark 01-02-2006, 05:00 PM Very good stuff - just waiting for it to be released in stable and we'll definitely be moving to it from our quite heterogeneous setup that we have so far (SupportTrio, Lpanel, ClientExec, etc)
Just to update and provide some information on this....
We have released 1.0.5 Beta (12/31/2005), which fixes all of issues (while minor issues), from 1.0.4d.
So far, we have no bug reports. If we continue with 0 bugs reports, next Monday will mark the release of IntelloDesk v1.0.0 Stable.
or-tec 01-04-2006, 04:16 PM I wanted to pre-order the product - but as mentioned earlier:
"The coupon code doesn't work..."
So It would be nice if it worked or it is a plot to make people wait for the full price of the release.
So please fix it soon.
So we can buy the software...
Regards
Oren
David 01-04-2006, 04:18 PM Oren,
The coupon code worked great during the time the coupon code was activated. ;)
I bought a copy myself.
Artashes 01-04-2006, 04:22 PM So It would be nice if it worked or it is a plot to make people wait for the full price of the release.
Thank you, Oren, for discovering the biggest conspiracy of the century. This must be it! :gthumb:
Anyways, I am not sure why WHT is used as tech support platform, but have you tried contacting the company prior to making the post? I cannot believe Mark and the rest of the team would ignore such request/bug/error/whatever it is.
Best,
ANMMark 01-04-2006, 04:40 PM So It would be nice if it worked or it is a plot to make people wait for the full price of the release.
While we have included subliminal messaging in our software for Coka Cola, and Doritos, we have yet to stoop so low, as to expect people to pay full price for our software. ;)
David 01-04-2006, 04:42 PM Mmm.. Doritos/coke..
Now get back to my ticket! :p
or-tec 01-04-2006, 05:21 PM Finally!
I get it!
After going out of the movie "NARNIA" I had the urge to buy intellodesk!!!
I must say even though I never used it I knew I had to have it!...
Wow, amazing I wish i could use your technology to influence my clients.
Maybe we could do something together - like a joint venture?...
You develop the subliminal messaging and I'll do the marketing?
I know that if we work right - we could take out some major players:
verio, at&t microsoft...
So let me know...soon
I need some wishful thinking in my everyday life...
NetHosted-Andrew 01-04-2006, 08:32 PM No offense, but that just looks like too much like Kayako v3 for my liking.
Andrew
mrzippy 01-04-2006, 08:40 PM If we continue with 0 bugs reports, next Monday will mark the release of IntelloDesk v1.0.0 Stable.
I wouldn't go "back" to v1.0.0. That would definately be a turn-off for prospective customers who weren't aware it has been fully tested in beta, etc.. I would personally not purchase any software marked as v1.0.0, as it indicates that NO patches or updates have been done since the first release.. which means... there are likely bugs.
Why not just continue with the existing version and drop the "Beta" part?
ANMMark 01-04-2006, 11:25 PM No offense, but that just looks like too much like Kayako v3 for my liking.
I don't think it looks very much like Kayako at all. However, it's a skin. This skin was designed out of demand, to mimick XP's look and functionality. Keep in mind however, that it's only one of hundreds that will be available, and you can make each skin look anyway you want, from the ground up, because we give you COMPLETE control over each page's template, within the skin you choose. IntelloDesk comes with two skins by default, and they are bot dramatically different from each other.
Sorry if I don't see any comparison. In fact, IntelloDesk's XP skin is just that....it uses traditional XP imagery and styles. We can't help if another product on the market makes use of XP styles as well.
Why not just continue with the existing version and drop the "Beta" part?
Good plan actually. I was being a little absent minded at the time of that statement.
I;m interested to buy this scripts, but It seem only accept paypal methode for payment :-?
It's a shame "IntelloDesk" copied www.mediatemple.net 's black horizontal bar on their interface. Tisk, tisk...
mrzippy 01-06-2006, 05:59 PM It's a shame "IntelloDesk" copied www.mediatemple.net 's black horizontal bar on their interface. Tisk, tisk...
Yes, intellodesk designers should never have used a generic shaded black/grey horizontal bar.
lol. (Now where's that "rolling eyes" emoticon gone to?)
It's a shame "IntelloDesk" copied www.mediatemple.net 's black horizontal bar on their interface. Tisk, tisk...
There is hundreds of sites that use the same type of bar. Give me a break.
whatever 01-06-2006, 06:20 PM Ok, I admit a bought a copy of this script. With Support-Trio, Kayako and Cerberus licenses already I was reluctant to change or even purchase another script. But for $59, I have little to loose and the script is great!
I did have some issues installing the application (my FTP client didn't upload every file), but they installed the software for me free-of-charge!
ANMMark 01-07-2006, 02:38 AM It's a shame "IntelloDesk" copied www.mediatemple.net 's black horizontal bar on their interface. Tisk, tisk...
I don't think I'll dignify that with any kind of detailed response. I will however say that a gradient bevel is an extremely common graphic element. We also have a blue one in the admin panel (same spot as the grey one on the user and staff panel). You'll need to pardon me, if I find that a ridiculous statement.
niyogi 01-07-2006, 06:22 AM There's much much more to this software then the gray bar - but if that's what is preventing you from moving forward with it, that's your prerogative! :-)

So you guys just HAPPEN to have the same pixels / border on your black horizontal bar as MT? And by same, I mean an EXACT clone?
ANMMark 01-07-2006, 09:25 PM So you guys just HAPPEN to have the same pixels / border on your black horizontal bar as MT? And by same, I mean an EXACT clone?
Of course. We stole it from them. We're capable of creating highend software, with highend functionality, but by far, we do not have the ability to create our own gradient bevels.
Common sense tells us, that if we're able to make imagery and bevels for the rest of our software, why on earth would we need to steal something so insignificant?
In my opinion, I feel that you are simply trying to find fault, where it otherwise is not due. It's just sad that the best you could come up with is an insignificant gradient image
In any case rob5, the last thing I need to do is rip someone else's work. Anyone that knows about me or my work, can definately testify to that.
Since it's so insignificant, and since we keep a PSD of practically every little thing we make....I'd be happy to post a link to the PSD of this gradient, if it will help you sleep better at night.
ANMMark 01-07-2006, 09:50 PM Sorry, for some reason it errored out when including the link in the last post. So, I'm trying again:
http://www.avidinteractive.com/psd/sub_nav_bg2.psd
Note
It appears as though this is a preset pattern in PSP, as the PSP information dialog shows the gradient pattern name "Plastic Grad"
Anything else you would like to discuss?
xentrion 01-08-2006, 08:41 PM Interface a bit buggy in Firefox? I suppose it's still in Beta.
whatever 01-08-2006, 09:06 PM I haven't encountered any interface bugs within Firefox.
ANMMark 01-08-2006, 10:35 PM Interface a bit buggy in Firefox? I suppose it's still in Beta.
The software was tested in IE, Firefox, and Opera, without any problems whatsoever.
If you could provide a little more information, that would be helpful
xentrion 01-08-2006, 11:31 PM Perhaps it's because I'm still stuck in the stone age with 1.0.6? Have they changed their HTML renderer any? I've been meaning to update <.<
bosshero 01-09-2006, 03:24 AM ANMMark
Its there any special on for now?? if yes low price i will get it today :D
reply fast pls.
Thanks,
Charlie
psykik 06-03-2006, 05:43 AM mhhhh just found this topic and I must say I'm really interested in this script. It looks very nice. and some of the planned features look really good.
I currently use cerberus 3.0 (upgraded from the RC to full 3.0 yesterday), well using it is a big word.
actually since I installed the 3.0 RC (and now 3.0) I've had NOTHING but troubles.
their new way of parsing the e-mails through cron.php has been a big long way of problems. I kept kicking my crons telling me the IP wasn't allowed while I added every possible IP I could think of for the server's cron.
I then realised the error return said invalid IP without mentioning which IP it was.
When I went to look into the source code of cron.php I saw that normally it should also return the IP in question along with the error message.
to keep it short, it didn't so I bypassed the IP-check by removing it. now for some odd reason, while my support e-mail inbox is totally empty, I still get tickets generated from old test e-mails sent.
in all the parsing in cerebus is really one big mess. on their site you get tutorials en flash animation but still on the old version of cerberus and not updated with their new 3.0
so I'm moving on and this intelloDesk really looks good.

There are always issues with new software releases - if you didn't want to have any problems then you shouldn't have been running an RC release (despite the fact these were fairly stable).
With all these issues, did you ever email Cerberus support? While they are slower in replying at the moment due to the volume of requests, I imagine they would have been able to sort the problem out :)
psykik 06-03-2006, 12:15 PM nope they didn't
I mailed both support
and also posted on their forum.
in the end it didn't get sorted out.
yes it worked because I hacked the IP security check out of the source code. :-/
--> a workaround not a fix then actually;
you can look at the forum of cerberus... it's full of costumers having problems with the parser.
anyway I'm moving on
I'm configuring intelloDesk as we speak. and it seems very promising! I've already made contact with ANMMark through PM and he gave me a nice offer.
and it's a nice design as well!!!
ihostdev 06-03-2006, 12:38 PM I would make sure you take a good look over intellodesk before you switch
Yes it's a nice piece of software and support is decent, but it seems that development has slowed up and there are some important features missing depending on what type of business you run.
We have been using this for both our software business and hosting business. My personal views is it works great for our software business, but with the hosting business it really limits us with not being able to have private departments.
Qgyen 06-03-2006, 02:45 PM How comparable is Intellodesk to Kayako? I was checking out Intellodesk, but found it somewhat odd that a lot of the threads about it were people selling their licenses. Price wise, Intellodesk is much more attractive than Kayako.
Steven 06-03-2006, 02:50 PM The only thing I do not like about intellodesk.. Their license system. Yesterday their servers went down for a short period of time and i was not able to login to my support desk.

I will not answer for comparison between our product and Kayako, I would rather let the multiple customers that switched from them to us answer for that, as we have no experience with the competitor's software.
Keep in mind that many people use the special pricing on some of the promotions and sales, to buy and then sell. For a lot of people this is one of the driving factors in picking the license up.
However, we have over 250 active clients, that have stood by the product since it's inception.
The only thing I do not like about intellodesk.. Their license system. Yesterday their servers went down for a short period of time and i was not able to login to my support desk.
This should not have occured. This in fact is the reason for the local key....key.php file. As long as the key file is up to date (updates everytime you login to your admin panel), it last 7 days, without our server being active.
We did this in the even that something major occurs, to a point in which our servers go down, etc.
