This is happened 4-5 times in last three months. elvenrayne 12-13-2005, 02:10 AM I tried searching nothing with gazzin comes up.. Damn hacked huh! >_< dats nasty! florinsasioan 12-13-2005, 11:44 AM Hi elvenrayne, i am with gazzin for one year now and they are a good host, i mean good for this budget, you shouldn't expect to run big websites with them, they have many short downtimes caused by mysql mostly (if you have htm pages it will work great) , but by reading posts on WHT, this is happening only on a few servers, i recomend this host as a start point and after a while you can realize if it is what you are looking for. In comparation with other hosting companies they are very professional in what they are doing, they have hundreds of clients and the support is good I has monitoring a website hosted through my resseler account from gazzin and the uptime was 99.50% in november and my service is checking the site every 5 minutes. This uptime is enough for my websites hosted with gazzin. I also have a +25$ account from a more known hosting company and in some months there isn't any difference betwen gazzin and my other company concerning uptime and speed I strongly recomend you to give it a try, you have nothing to loose :peace: P.S. There are many posts here at WHT regarding problems with gazzin but remember that if you count them you wont past over 30 and that means that gazzin has a couple of hundred pleased clients minus this one on WHT Samcoder 12-13-2005, 12:37 PM My suggestion is based from three months webhosting on Windows server. Every reseller who is on their windows server complaining and having time to time issues related to uptime and security. I had a budget linux reseller plan from resellerzoom and having no issues of uptime and hacking etc from last two months. For Linux hosting I will recommend Resellerzoom. For windows reseller account option I am intrested in Jodohost as having very positive feedback on WHT. florinsasioan 12-13-2005, 01:12 PM Samcorder i don't want to be rude but what are you doing on a windows server:) Ok, realy that was a joke, i heard people on gazzin plans being hacked mostly spam scripts and some cases of phishing, but this problem is common to all hosting companies some companies went out of business because of this kind of attacks. You all think that gazzin is poor on technical staff, the reality is that gazzin is sharing the same technical staff with other hosting companies big or small because they have some racks rented in a big datacenter. Let's be resonable, who has his own datacenter or how many companies administrate their rented servers. The problem with gazzin is that they have to many accounts on a server and mysql is the first victim in this case, on windows servers this is even a greater problem. I agree to the fact that resellerzoom is greater than gazzin, i have an advanced reseller plan with them wich is more than great, and note that is a BIG diference between BUDGET and ADVANCED plans regarding support, servers performance, and implication of technical staff Anyway i recomand gazzin to those who are newbies or who don't have big sites especialy mysql driven . :peace: Samcoder 12-13-2005, 01:55 PM Now the windows server is down, ftp was not working earlier from several hours. Here is the live support example for my query they don't want to answer the question: ************************************************ Message generated by CCS - www.clickchatsold.com ************************************************ Please Wait while connecting to an operator Welcome to Gazzin.com, Your speaking to - Sean Sean: hello, how may i assist you? you: Is mercury down , my websites are not accessible Operator has closed your chat Sender IP : 202.177.169.234 Sender Host : ---------------------------------- CCS - http://www.clickchatsold.com BlazeHD 12-13-2005, 09:48 PM If you stay with Linux you should be ok as it is harder to hack then Windows. niyogi 12-13-2005, 10:10 PM It's not just about hacking - it's also about user-level compromises which happen extremely often on Linux boxes then on Windows boxes due to people running directories with inappropriate permissions (suggested to them by the software they are installing). Roj elvenrayne 12-13-2005, 11:25 PM Wow.. that's a lot of wicked feedback! I am planning to get the linux hosting anyways.. but being hacked and all does worry me.. right now its 50% good and 50% bad at gazzin.. still hoping to get more positive feedbacks.. ^^ nax9 12-14-2005, 12:11 AM If you stay with Linux you should be ok as it is harder to hack then Windows. That couldn't be more false. Most of the hacks you see on Windows is because the server admin didn't patch the server properly (MS releases many patches, but it's up to you to install them). I've noticed most exploits in the Windows market are more publicised, and most of them come out ~1-3 days after a patch has been released by MS. Linux on the other hand, can just as easily be rooted by someone who knows what they're doing. Trojans exist just as much for Linux as Windows. It's all up to how the administrator handles it. elvenrayne 12-14-2005, 12:42 AM I tried their live support and asked about the hack and stuff here is the chat: Please Wait while connecting to an operator Welcome to Gazzin.com, Your speaking to - John John: hi how can I assist you sarah: hello sarah: i would like to ask.. how reliable are your servers? John: We are able to maintain an avg of 99.9% uptime on all our servers John: some are able to acheive 100% uptime as well sarah: i have had some friends recommend me gazzin and some telling me that their reseller accounts got hacked before.. can you assure me that this wont happen to me John: what package are you goin for linux or wnidows? sarah: linux John: linux u are fine as long as you keep your passwords secure John: we have had no issues on this sarah: ic.. so the windows servers are prone to these and not linux John: yes thats how it is although we have many nodes to prevent a big hack however it will happen on some accounts from time to time sarah: >_< that is what i am afraid of.. John: your not on windows you'll be fine John: currently we have over 40 linux nodes John: over 1500+ resellers John: 30,000+ domains which we host sarah: O_o wow that's a really nice figure.. and how long have you been operation? John: Gazzin has been in business for 1+ year so far John: and have been growing at a tremendous rate Samcoder 12-14-2005, 01:39 PM What is going on with Gazzin Mercury server it is hacked again & again. What your admins are doing Gods know.My websites are down I have raised a ticket & it is almost more than 24 Hrs passed without any reply. With this much of time you can format and reload atleast 4-5 new servers. I think Gazzin should leave the windows web hosting until you get the best admins. Can you beleive FTP are not working even on changing the passwords. In the three months webhosting I have seen these hacking issue many times and even got my two websites disappered from my reseller account (deleted by some Hack I think). Every time your support will this won't happen again. Where is gazzin's Voice - Mr Clanosirius pls come forward for explaination. elvenrayne 12-16-2005, 02:43 AM Sam are you on windows hosting? Samcoder 12-16-2005, 03:03 AM Yes, and Gazzin have only one windows server. After three days now the things are back to normal. clanosiris 12-16-2005, 03:42 AM Hi SamCoder, Issue was resolved yesterday night. The issue will be discussed with our server admins about this to prevent this from happening as we were able to get IIS up however issues arose in the ftp password sync. We were able to get the most important services up first. As for the amount of windows server there is more than one as I mentioned in prior posts. 1. control panel or frontend 2. MS SQL server 3. node1 for IIS 4. node2 for IIS iHostKing 12-17-2005, 08:15 PM There support is good. I have only had a couple of issues over the year. Right now they just switched me to another server, Tiger, and we are trying to resolve some email server issues right now. They do go above and beyond in trying to provide good support. I hope they fix the email server issue on the new Tiger server real soon though. BrandonSCSN 12-18-2005, 01:53 PM Now the windows server is down, ftp was not working earlier from several hours.
