I also see that when I do a check for my site here! it has showed that the SSL cert. has expired and this has been here for a Long time!
http://www.whois.sc/genec-lori.com SSL is expired!

I also did a check on this. http://www.whois.sc/premierservers.com
and get the same error!
SSL Cert: No valid SSL on this Host, Get Secure

any and all input is welcome and thank you all in advance.

What exactly is the question?

gene c.
12-12-2005, 04:50 PM
what does this mean that it is expired. and would this have anything to do with me not being able to log into any of my sites that have a https in them. webmail, cpanel,Whm etc.

When you purchase an SSL certificate it always has an expiration date, so it just means that it needs to be renewed.

As far as Cpanel is concerned they provide the necessary certificates with your cpanel license to securely enter secure areas. There is a section in the WHM panel to manipulate these certificates. However these certificates have nothing to do with private certificates you purchase for your private websites.

maybe it would help if I gave you all more info. I was trying to not post my webhost I have a resellers account with. I didn't want it to look like I was bashing them here. I have posted it in their forums early this morning. that I couldn't get into my cpanel, webmail or WHM and still no answer.

I was going to put in a support ticket and saw that another member had put in one on 11/13/05 for a site back up and still haden't got a answer as of my posting.

I ask here for I use these fourms to get 98% of my questions answered by or from what I read here. I even did a search for this topic on this fourm and found nothing. that is why I ask you all.

these certs aren't mine. I would guess they should be renewed by my host.

An expired certificate would not prevent you from logging into your control panel or webmail, all it would do is cause your browser to throw a warning message.

In addition the certificate installed on your server for whm/cpanel access does not expire until 4/8/06 (https://genec-lori.com:2083).

That warning is for the certificate installed on port 443, not the whm/cpanel ports.

thanks you all so kindly for the replies on this. I didn't want to state my host here for they are in enought trouble at this site. but, I wanted to post this info about now what is happening to protect myself in the event anyone should use this site and think it goes to me.

I'm sorry to have to post this here. I'm just lost as to why this is happening to me and my site.

here is the complete post I made at my host.

trying to log into WHM.

ME, 12-12/ 9:55 a.m. webmail is also down for my site!

ME, 12-12/ 1:43 p.m.guess I'm the only one that comes to this forum. or else everyone else

isn't haveing this same problem?

I also see that when I do a check for my site here! it has showed that the SSL cert. has

expired and this has been here for a Long time!
http://www.whois.sc/genec-lori.com SSL is expired!

I think Bonnie said that she was going to fix this, but I don’t think she never found time.

Have you opened a helpdesk ticket on this? If not Please do so

Sorry Gene C I had to remove that 2nd url from your post above

12-13/7:51 a.m. when I saw this post here. and it has been close to a month. I figured it

was no use!

Sorry Gene C I had to remove that 2nd url from your post above.

I don't know why you removed that link. that is public record anyone can find it! all they

have to do is go to the link I posted for my site. and it is across from the SSL cert. third

one down.

also, are we the clients of either the old crediblehost now know as affordable net service

to always know that no staff comes to these fourms. for it looks like it has been close to a

month since bonnie was logged on?

can you see it you can get them to even come up for you. all I get is can't find site or

they times out. I know you don't have my password. but, at least you should be able to get

the opening screen to come up.

I have tried IE 6.0,maxthon,netscape 8.0, firefox 1.0.7 and they all give me the same error.

I have also cleaned out all my browser settings.

sorry for answering my own post. but, this really has me worried. for when I go to the other site that isn't mine I get this.
http://universalnetpay.com/

and even when I go to my on-line billing for crediblehost I don't see a https. does this mean it isn't secure?
http://crediblehost.com/exec/index.php?fuse=1000

I also found this.
http://www.whois.sc/universalnetpay.com

even tho I'm paid for in advance for another 4 months. should I find another host. " I always pay by the year" or I did for the lasy 2 years. don't think that will ever happen again. unless I get 100% better service & support I have for the last years with them.

like I said I don't know much about this stuff and I know my questions might sound dumb or useless for some? I just don't understand this and the reason for it happening. that is what scares me so much!

Gene C,

try to be very precise and reply again this things:

which is your site?
do you own a ssl certificate or you are using a share one?
what is universalpaynet?
why do you use a ssl certificate to acces your site?
who is your hosting company

and more important what is the problem?

i guess that no one had the time to read this "book" you have sent us, so please write again and be very precise and short and maybe we can help you

And BTW have you exaust all posibilities to contact your hosting company (email, phone, livechat)

P.S. i don't mean to make you scary but by reading among the post this sounds like a phising atack to the server you are one

I am the Super Moderator who answered gene c post (& I also some time lend a hand on the helpdesk as well…)

which is your site?

Gene C, site is: http://www.genec-lori.com

do you own a ssl certificate or you are using a share one?

I think she uses a shared one (Gene C correct me if I am wrong)

who is your hosting company

I/we did not what to post this as this company she/ I am with has had a LOT of Bad rept / bashing going on with it over the last year to 10 months :(

But if you really need to know it is CredibleHost (Puts flame suite on ;))

And BTW have you exaust all posibilities to contact your hosting company (email, phone, livechat)

There is only (at this time) three ways to contact the host we are on e-mail / forum / helpdesk.

Also after my reply to Gene C post on the forum akoss (another Super Moderator) (who’s on the same server as Gene C)

Said:

Gene, I can log into WHM, cPanel and webmail using your credentials. I think you need to double check your browsers buddy ;)

Gene C, try login in to cpanel again & let us know if you can’t :)

I had forgot about this post I made! I'll update it so as it will be settled.

stu 17 is right with that info except!

akoss if a Very good friend of mine. and has been for a long time by e-mails,phones calls etc.

he might be a mod at CH. but, he left back at the first of Nov. 05 he dosen't have a site at CH only some free space for storage back-up for him helping out on the board!

as you will see the cert on liberty ran out on 6-5-2005

this is the liberty cert itself
https://services.choicepoint.net/ser...ent?2645539237

this is where the SSL certs come from! https://services.choicepoint.net/ser...ent?2645539237

and I quote you stu17 on 02-06-2006, 04:06 AM
when another member ask about it also. you stated.
Magic is not the only server that the SSL cert has expired on:

genesis
melody
gandalf
liberty

(Unsure about Spirit & Magic)

as for tech support. tickets are takeing 2 to 3 days to get answered. so, I guess email would be a total waste.

forums are DEAD the last time Bonnie was on them was 11-22-05 and they are filled with server problems, HDD , CPU running in the flashing red.

Before I go on gene c Please PLEASE! Use [ QUOTE ] [ /QUOTE ] tages when replying to posts or if you cant use them use some sort of formating like a different clour or bold/italic text so I & evary one else know who you are replying to :)

Thanks :)

Now I think you will fine the reason why Bonnie has not been to the forum is because the forum is no longer a official way to get support, the help desk is, the forum is only for members to help members.

You still don't explain why it's taking 2-3 days for a support ticket to be answered!

If I know the answer to that I would say, but you’re not the only one who would like to know that answer!!

But in the last few days (from) 08-03-06 80 – 90 % of the help desk tickets have been reply to with in a few hours.

But in the last few days (from) 08-03-06 80 – 90 % of the help desk tickets have been reply to with in a few hours.

replied to dosen't mean a thing. it just shows you recieved the ticket. getting the problem fixed is another story. would you like me to post some of the comments from users of the forum.

stu17, as I stated. I'm not here to bash CH. I'm just trying to imform others what I have lived with since dec. of 03. and I really don't think Bonnie needs some young kid that gets space for free. to always make up excuses for the close to useless support that CH is known for.

let it go. for it really dosen't matter anymore! and I don't think WHT is a place for you and I to debate this matter. I only made this post in the first place was I didn't understand about the SSL cert. and I know that here at WHT.

if you got questions. this is the place to get answers!

sidenote. if your or bonnie want me to give a full 2 yr. 3 month review of CH. mail me and I'll make one on my site. so as to not clutter this forum with my problems.

Since I was the one that started this post. I would like to ask if it can be locked so as to not futher turn this into a pi$$ match.
