Hello everyone. After months of research I’m going to purchase Plesk Plus 7.5 for Windows. I installed Plesk Trial on a test box and played with it for few days and after all I’m still confused how this software exactly works. I printed all of the Plesk manuals and looked through them and still I’m confused. Based on the reviews that I read, this product will be a perfect solution for my hosting solution and I really want to go with this product if I can lean it. I already have my dedicated Windows Server up and running and all I need to do is to install Plesk and move on.

I would really appreciate if you guys in this forum can help me to understand this product. As I said, I did play with this software for a while and I even did the installation so I have some basic background and I’m sure I can learn it quickly if you can just walk me through the software.

Hi Mike,

Plesk for Windows is a great control panel! It's very easy to install as you can simply login and download the desktop installer which will install everything for you. Using Plesk can be very simple compared to other control panels. After you get it all setup and configured you can simply login and start adding your clients without any hassle. Just make sure you have all of the requirements on the Windows 2003 server before installing. I beleive they can all be found in the release notes of the version you're installing. What firewall do you recommend to use with Plesk? Should I use the basic Windows Server 2003 firewall or you recommend to purchase one?

I would recommend the Windows Firewall. When configured with Plesk it works great.

When installing Plesk you have to install the firewall module so you can manage it from Plesk under the IP Address area in Server section.
