Well, my dad is going on a Business trip to New York, so the boss gave him his BMW 528i. So ya know he comes home and he's like ya wanna take a BMW for drive. I jumped all over that. He didn't tell me it's a 5-Speed. I've driven a stick in my life (I've only been driving for like 8 months). Let's just say I couldn't get the dang thing started cause you have to do all this fancy stuff with it. Then I tried to put in Reverse, and I put it in 1st. I finally got in reverse, stalled it out in the middle of the road. Got it going, was doing pretty good, untill I got to a stop sign. Stalled it out. Got going again, was doing good. So I got cocky and went to my friends house to show off. That turned out bad. We went for a ride, and I stalled it probably 10 times. Dropped him off and stalled it once more. Then I parked it, and here I am now.

I'm your dads boss, he's fired!

:)

Beautiful cars those. You haven't lived until you've driven a stick. My current car (Olds Intrigue) is an automatic but my next car will again be a 5 speed. I'm waiting for the new Cadillac CTSI to come out. 400 HP LS6 in a CTS. Woah friggin nelly! I hope they aren't too expensive.

A buddy of mine has a BMW 325i and man what a nice ride those are. 528i probably much better.

in the uk unless u passed your test in a manual stick shift you cant drive one, if you pass in an auto you can only drive autos. stops little things like that happenin;) no offense but it aint the safest thing to learn while on the road.
only driven an auto once and it was freaky. kept going to change gears and finding myself heading towards putting it in reverse lol. they are without a doubt the laziest invention on the planet :)

I talked to the manager, who I'd spoken to on the phone a few times, and paid for the tires. He said, "just a minute, you can pick it up out front." Then he looked into the shop and said, "oh wait... he can't drive a stick! Uh... OK, you can drive it out yourself."

I don't think I've ever encountered someone working around cars who didn't drive a stick before. And this guy was probably 30 or 35 years old.

Then, by the way, I'm driving home thinking these new tires aren't really handling that well... get home and check the air pressure, and the bozo had them all right up at 40 psi.

By the way, I've never driven an auto car... I have driven for six years, but I don't think I will ever buy an automatic car... where's the fun? Second gear to 100km/h it's the true experience. And by the way, a manual shift car uses less fuel.
