Anyone? Thanks. biosphere TheException 04-25-2002, 07:40 PM I believe most people use Adobe Photoshop... There are several image editing programs out there, Macromedia FireWorks is really good for making logos if I remember correctly... You could try doing a search for image editing software or something... alpha 04-25-2002, 08:09 PM I'd go with the Adobe Illustrator in combination with Adobe Photoshop if you can get them both. Illustrator is vector-based so it'll be great for logos, etc. :) I've never used Macromedia Fireworks but i've heard it was pretty good. KualoJo 04-25-2002, 08:23 PM Do you know what i just use an old program called Adobe Imagestyler -- they don't make it anymore but they bleedin well SHOULD! It could do with some modifications nowadays but it still gives you a good result and can be downloaded from download.com. I made my site using it (www.nomonthly.co.uk) along with others and i think it is fab... use it just for making the images tho- it has a built in system to make the HTML but i wouldn't trust it... a quality program nonetheless. web docta 04-25-2002, 09:40 PM Fireworks LinuXpert 04-25-2002, 09:57 PM I use Adobe tools for graphic design but from what I've experienced with Dreamweaver and Flash, I can say that Macromedia tools are really powerful. You'd better use both. 21inchguns 04-25-2002, 10:43 PM Fireworks is a great program and very easy to use and learn...........it is great for newbies to use...... However, Adobe Photoshop is just so damn powerful and can do so many things........but it takes more time and effort to learn and costs a lot more than fireworks.... web docta 04-25-2002, 10:50 PM Just got Photoshop 7! Can't wait to play with it :D Lain 04-25-2002, 11:18 PM web docta - what are the big things about PS7 that's different from 6? Is it worth the upgrade, or should I wait? Bullschmidt 04-26-2002, 12:48 AM Here is an interesting Web site for just creating some free, cool looking text (and you can then download your new image): http://www.flamingtext.com akashik 04-26-2002, 06:36 AM photoshop here too. For really small images (such as arrows, and incidental bitmaps), just fire up the magnification to around 800-1200%, select the smallest brush or pencil (one pixel) and just dot the image in. Very good for small folders or those 'print this page' type graphics. For logos, and you're looking at a vector program, try Freehand or Illustrator. If you're strapped for cash look at Zoner (www.zoner.com) Greg Moore web docta 04-26-2002, 07:15 AM Originally posted by Lain web docta - what are the big things about PS7 that's different from 6? Is it worth the upgrade, or should I wait? I haven't installed it yet, didin't get the time. Go to the Adobe Photoshop 7 page here and view the movie about the new features http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/newfeatures.html Looks pretty cool. I wouldn't wait! :D NumLock 04-26-2002, 08:54 AM ms-paint :) code_renegade 04-27-2002, 09:34 AM I use a combination of Photoshop 6 and Fireworks. IMHO Fireworks is good for creating text images, and Photoshop provides the power for some very nice graphics ;) web docta 04-27-2002, 12:29 PM Just installed Photoshop 7.0. It has a nice file browser in the upper right hand corner and something called "healing brush" that let's you take out scratches and blemishes, while preserving the shading and texture in the corrected area. Also lets you customize and save different pallette layouts for your workspace. Nice touches! weeps 04-27-2002, 12:39 PM photoshop for sure Jeffyt 04-27-2002, 12:49 PM Da gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) .
