I desperately need recommendations for shopping cart software (preferably written in PHP). I'm having trouble finding what I need and the amount of software available out there is quite overwhelming.
The most important thing to me is how shipping is handled. For each item I want to be able to set a base shipping price and an additional shipping price for at least 3 locations. If there are multiple items in the shopping cart it will charge the highest base price and then the additional prices for everything else.
I think Marketworks uses this system, but the carts are hosted on their server and they charge a monthly fee. Not only do I want to host the shop on my domain, but I'm far too small-time for a monthly fee.
I'd obviously prefer a free script, but I'm willing to pay a (reasonable) onetime fee if it's the only way to get what I want.
Other features I want:
- PayPal compatible
- Manufacturer descriptions
- Sort/search by manufacturer or category
- Coupon codes (unique codes for specific people as well as codes open to everyone)
- Wish list (which can be linked to, like what Amazon has)(Unless it can lead to fraud or something? Advice on this would be appreciated.)
- compatible with iDevAffiliate or similar affiliate software (recommendations for these would also be nice)
And if you're curious to know what I'll be selling, it's just some small stuff I make (accessories, lip balm, etc). A couple of my friends also do crafty stuff so I want to be able to set them up too. We are all poor student types so it would be nice if we could sell our handmade goods without huge fees.
