bleh!

I'm on WinXP, running an lite/hacked and old version of ICQ version 2000b Beta 4.65.

It seems like every other night, ICQ seems to be calling a function that my ICQ version doesn't have cause its either been 'taken off' manually or too old...

anyone else have this problem with older versions of ICQ? lol, im just trying to figure out if its my computer or if ICQ is calling something to make sure people who use old ICQ to stop using it?

anyone have any idea?
what version of ICQ do you guys use?

thanks

bleh - i tried trillian when it started to get popular...
i thought that triilian was a pain for just using ICQ/AIM services. the interface was ugly, i didn't feel like looking for a good skin. When I first opened it up, i was like... umm, confusing interface, i guess i just got too used to using AIM to change.

I have a copy of ICQ 99a. I don't use ICQ much, though. I used Trillian for ICQ but then there's a problem with using both AIM and ICQ at the same time. I'm running win2k pro. I guess I'll install 99a and see how it goes.

just downloaded Miranda ICQ... which seems like ICQ with less crap on the interface... very simple and basic ICQ interface for those who don't use those 'extra' services that Mirabilis ICQ includes in their program...

why I hate the 'latest' version(s) of ICQ:

1) ads
2) unncessary and irritating services
3) unncessary and irritating services
4) cluttered interface
5) and unncessary and irritating services

unless ICQ decided to be good and released an ICQ program with tolerable amount of 'crap', ill keep using miranda...

*ugh* yes!

I'll stick with MS Mess I think. Nice and quick and works out of the box.
