In terms of reliability, technical support, and service, I would have to name two companies: Rackspace.com NTT/Verio (verio.com) Thank you. rey 04-25-2002, 09:27 AM Some of the best data centers I know are these: 1. Internap: internap.com 2. Inflow: inflow.com 3. Level3: level3.com chrisb 04-26-2002, 01:24 AM Originally posted by rey Some of the best data centers I know are these: 1. Internap: internap.com 2. Inflow: inflow.com 3. Level3: level3.com Do you know any reseller that uses them? I can't afford my own server yet. about rackspace... though I've seen good, I've also seen bad posted here about them. For example, they boast of 100% uptime, yet people were here recently complaining about servers being down at rackspace. Maybe it was a rare occurence? What about rackshack? How does rackshack stack up? It seems like most hosting servers are at these geographic locations... Connecticut, Plano TX, Scranton PA, etc. All I know is to stay away from a Bedford, TX host.. because it might be *****. ADEhost 04-26-2002, 01:58 AM Equinix. they are the best carrier nutral data center out there. expensive as hell. the people whom design there centers make them almost impossible to get into. more dead man doors than you can shake a stick at and htere inhouse person tracker software was bought by a government agency ( I wont say which one because I don't know whom is listening ) Mike from adehost Asher S 04-26-2002, 02:51 AM LayerOne.com apollo 04-26-2002, 04:59 AM I would say internap & inflow. I have never used their services but read a lot good things about both companies. dynamicnet 04-26-2002, 06:58 AM Greetings: We provide managed services to rackspace.com and rackshack.net (along with other data center) customers. We've yet to have a single problem with rackspace.com having worked with their customers since May 2001. They offer 99.999% uptime, and our enterprise network monitoring system has tracked them as being close to that uptime level. That's where credits come into play; and its close enough compared to other data centers. We've only been working with rackshack.net customers since February of this year. We got our own rackshack.net server to be part of our monitoring station group, and have been monitoring it since mid April. It has been around 99.5% uptime. Out of all of the data centers listed by previous posts, we still stick with rackspace.com and verio.com as being the leaders when it comes to uptime, reliability, stable boxes, and quality of service. Thank you. qps 04-26-2002, 03:53 PM The bar none best data center I've ever toured was www.edeltacom.com - 376,000 sq ft facility. I'd have to say that www.globalcompass.com has a pretty nice facility as well. netacore 04-26-2002, 05:53 PM re: Equinix IBM partnered with Equinix and I used to colocate there for a short while. The service was outstanding, 100% uptime spanning 6 months. Security is top notch, every doorway is equipped with a handscan and security guards actively monitor the grounds. Anyone who has been at the newark facility will know how confusing it is to get inside :) Exellent facility but IBM charges an arm and a leg vibehosts 04-26-2002, 07:18 PM Nevermind , geesh Woody 04-26-2002, 08:28 PM Uh..reread his post. He just mentioned RackShack once saying that they have had nice uptime on their server with them. In the rest of the post he praised Rackspace and Verio.
