I know that Google Adsense has been talked about a lot on this forum (mostly negatively). Assuming that my account doesn't get shut down by google, would you recommend Adsense or Yahoo? Which one pays better? Which one shows most relevant ads? Which one do you use, and which one should I use?

Yahoo is generally considered to pay better (anecdotal evidence, but pretty prevelant) but you need an invite to get in still if I remember correctly.

You can apply to be considered for the beta program (I just checked the site). If not Yahoo, then what is the best paying, and most relevant publisher ppc banner program?

Google cheats, they terminate your account once you start making $400+ They have a pretty bad reputation on the WHT forums if you search around. They also seem to start off paying high per clicks and then they start paying you close to nothing.

Then what would you recommend instead of them? I've used them, and I've made $200 from them. I'm not mad at them (yet). I'm just looking for a higher paying website.

That's a ridiculous statement.
I have been on google since the start and have always earned over $1000 per month. And I'm sure there are many other people that earn alot more that I.
There's also other contextual ad companies you can choose from:
Clicksor
TargetPoint
Adbrite
BidClix
Nixxie
InfoGrabber
Chitika
AllFeeds
Adhearus
AffiliateSensor
Bidvertiser
Veoda
RevenuePilot

Yahoo
Miva
SearchFeed
Fastclick text ads
AdEngage
BannerBoxes

read this:

search their google search engine, you will see a lot more complaints elsewhere as well. Their value of their clicks also keep dropping from your original first month.

Also check this out, just because I had logged into my friend's google account before they also terminate my account even though it did not violate their TOS:
"Your AdSense account was found to be related to an account previously
disabled for invalid click activity and we have therefore disabled your
account. Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed
further participation in AdSense and do not receive any further
payment. The earnings on your account will be properly returned to the
affected advertisers.
As outlined in our program Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the
right to terminate any publisher's participation at any time.
Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team"
Hello,
Upon receipt of your response, we have thoroughly reviewed your account
and have confirmed that it is related to an account previously disabled
for invalid click activity. We have certain policies in place to help
ensure the effectiveness of Google ads for our publishers as well as our
advertisers. For this reason, we are unable to reinstate you into the
program.
Please note that due to the proprietary nature of our algorithm, we cannot
disclose any details about how our monitoring technology works or what
specifics we found on your account.
As outlined in our program Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the right
to terminate any publisher's participation at any time.
Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team
What an abuse of their powers of "reserving the rights to terminate". They also cannot justify that my friend's site had invalid clicks which I know for a fact didn't got any invalid clicks.

Once you are terminated from Google Adsense, 99.9% chance is that they will not let you back, even if you explain to them what happened in a long email. :( Even though the 0.1% remains, I've never heard anyone get their account restored !
