View Full Version : You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/cgiemail on this server

Hello,

I’ve just recently moved server, re-installed cPanel etc but now when a customer enters the CGI Centre and clicks on CGI Email he is prompted with the following error:-

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/cgiemail on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I’ve tried updating cPanel, updating the system software, the server software and also the scripts but nothing changes.

If anyone could help, or point me in the correct direction I would be very much appreciated.

Respectfully,

Jamie Carruthers.

What are the chmod settings for cgiemail, and who owns the file?

What are the chmod settings for cgiemail, and who owns the file? The file permissions are currently 755. The user trying to access the file is the owner. He’s basically logged into cPanel, went to the CGI Centre then CGI Mail. On our previous server he claims everything worked ok so whether it’s a problem with cPanel or a general server configuration error I’ve no idea.

This article might help to troubleshoot what's going on:

Kinda goes step-by-step at each level, and provides what the permissions & ownerships should be as an end result. :)
