boonchuan 12-05-2005, 06:48 PM We don't oversell, thats the reason why you see 200 GB/mth in Singapore. The cheapest bandwidth you can get in Singapore is US$100/mth per mbps, bandwidth costs alone would be 3 times what we are selling. You can figure out how much overselling that is. We can simply put down another "0" but we believe in giving our clients what we promised.
Monthly contract is possible.
yawsh 12-05-2005, 10:59 PM MS SQL 2000 1 SAL
Thanks for replying boonchuan, I have another Q.; what is SAL? is it shared? or I will have the MSSQL installed in my box as a localhost [unlimited]?
Can I install my own mssql if I did not buy the licance from u?
Thanks
Mohamed
boonchuan 12-05-2005, 11:03 PM SAL is something like CAL, Microsoft client access license. We are Microsoft SPLA, what we issue is known as SAL. You don't have to buy your own MS SQL as we will be providing MS SQL SAL for you. But there won't be any problem purchasing your own MS SQL.
yawsh 12-05-2005, 11:14 PM I think I will go with this offer
P4 3 Ghz
1 GB Ram
80 GB x 2 Mirror Raid
2 IP Addresses
200 GB/mth traffic (in+out)
Fedora 4, Centos 4, Windows 2003 Standard Edition
For Windows 2003, add MS SQL 2000 1 SAL US$15/mth
Zero setup fees , US$119/mth half yearly payment
Total = USD134/m?
BTW: What control panel do I get?
Regards
boonchuan 12-06-2005, 01:06 AM Hi
Total is US$134, for Windows there is no controlpanel, for linux we can provide Directadmin at US$10/mth
yawsh 12-06-2005, 03:07 AM for Windows there is no controlpanel
Then how clients on the server will manage thier sites?
avythe 12-06-2005, 03:10 AM You don't NEED a control panel to manage your sites...
yawsh 12-06-2005, 03:34 AM I may not need, but clients must need
boonchuan 12-06-2005, 04:12 AM Normally you can setup the sites using IIS wizards, for clients to have a certain amount of control , controlpanels of course would be easily, but Windows controlpanels, Helm, Hosting Controller and Plesk are all quite expensive as compared to their Linux counterparts.
We don't provide together with our servers but we can purchase on your behalf. Our indicative prices
US$399 for Hosting Controller Unlimited Licenses
US$499 for Helm Unlimited licenses (tentative)
US$799 for Plesk Windows 7.5 Unlimited licenses
The licenses will belong to you.
yawsh 12-06-2005, 01:29 PM Ok, let me search and test IIS wizards first.
BTW: till when tis offer is valid? coz I'm planning to cancel my current server at the end of this month and take yours.
Regards
Mohamed
boonchuan 12-06-2005, 01:53 PM Give me a few days notice and quote this thread, there shouldn't be any issue.
But do test out the various controlpanels see which is more preferable to you and your clients. A summary Helm is good for the look and feel, Hosting Controller for their support of 3rd party software, Plesk is under Sw-soft very fast growing and additional of features. Shd be a great controlpanel in the times to come.
