zRedDice 04-24-2002, 08:48 PM I take it you must have an OC-192 or a whole lot of them? Or maybe some new form of connection which runs at an infinitely fast speed? I've never heard of a connection that can handle unlimited amounts of data.
I have a site that transfers 200 terabytes a week. I'll take one of those dedicated servers of yours. :P

SicChild 04-24-2002, 09:04 PM enough bashing already. I'm sick of it. If you want to flame people that say "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" then search for board for a thread about it, there are hundreds.
bummer6666 04-24-2002, 09:06 PM no...actually our building has 2x OC-48 .... unlimited transffers means that there is not cap on how much you can transfer. We don`t charge any overage fees so If you do 1TB a month you pay only the monthly fees.
Unlike other companies will give you e.g. 300GB/month and anything over you have to pay extra
BMurtagh 04-24-2002, 09:10 PM and which speed do you transfer at? also how can you charge $79.00 for a colo of 1 ip on a 10mbps port, did you win that 324M lottery?
NetXL 04-24-2002, 09:16 PM They're using cogent.
I know i'm pretty much stating the ovbious, but that's how they can offer this.
bummer6666 04-24-2002, 09:16 PM our customers on 100mbit port get anywhere between 2000kbps- 25000kbps
you can check above bandwidth meter that`s a customer on 100mbit port ...he peaked at 50 000 kbps

Shouldnt you have said 2000-50000 then? Heh.
bummer6666 04-24-2002, 09:22 PM well 50000 is what he peaked at ... I am pretty sure it was for couple sconds only

I found one! i found one!
Btw, whats up with "air conditioned premises", the wording there is throwing me off (most people say "air conditioned server room", not "our lobby is air conditioned" hehe).

AcuNett 04-24-2002, 09:35 PM hm.. I'm getting pretty bad ping.
How come I'm being routed to san francisco to chicago when I'm in tennessee?
bummer6666 04-24-2002, 09:44 PM yes.... there have been a fiber cut today on the backbone...
*actually it should be fine now
Mxhub 04-24-2002, 10:39 PM Do you think a celeron 1000Mhz 128MB RAM server can handle unlimited traffic? I am concern about the hardware you are giving us.
bummer6666 04-24-2002, 10:47 PM all servers can be upgraded to customers wishes ... check the site for prices on upgrades
BiGWill 04-25-2002, 01:53 AM KingComp has been bashed so often.
and they have offered severall awesome deals in the past and everyone always said: will they be still around, will the costumer really get what they state?
seems as they'r still around, offering awesome deals and i heard no complain of any costumer till now!
so you'd better stop bashing around here ...
we all know this machine can't push out 10000terabyte per month, so KingComp can still calculate their offer. and i'm sure they did!
greetz
bummer6666 04-25-2002, 02:02 AM thx BIgWILL
dabystru 04-25-2002, 02:51 AM I have a server with FDCServers.net since February 2002, and I was able to transfer around 1500 GB a month (please see chicago.saburovo.com for MRTG graphs), paying only monthly fee.
Nice deal, Petr. Will you still accept PayPal for new servers? We all had problems with PayPal at one time or another, but as I understand they are OK now?
Tazzman 04-25-2002, 09:00 AM 1) I too am a satisfied customer, so stop bashing the company unless you have grounded reason to. Uptime and speed have been great. The lowest uptime I've had in a week since when I joined end of Februari was 99.6%. Weekly uptime has mostly been 100% though, so no complaints on that department. Server pings have been fast, even from Europe the ping is more than acceptable. Prices for hardware upgrades are rock bottom compared to others, for example last week I payed $65 for a ram upgrade from 256MB to 512MB, not bad considering I've seen companies asking for $100 for the same upgrade. Also the fact all upgrade prices are one time fees is very nice.
2) I don't think they're accepting paypal anymore, or didn't you receive that email a while back about the problems they were having with paypal. I wouldn't use paypal anyway, seeing the people running it are a bunch of idiots as far as I'm concerned. I sent them all the documentation for account activation over 3 months ago and I'm still waiting. Sent them 5 emails about it and then just gave up as I just kept receiving the same nonsense answer.
bummer6666 04-25-2002, 10:56 AM thanks for your support guys.....
our paypal problems have beens solved so we ACCEPT paypal now again
Petr,
I paid for my account through your CCform yesterday, if you not received, I can pay by paypal.
Server down right now. So please replug my server or fix the problem.
Thanks.

sorry for being off topic but bandwidth theft is one of the worst crimes on the net,,
Jorge

OK! if you think I was hottlinking others , Please point out what URLs has been hottlinked!
I never ever did what the ******** does , such as hottlinking, spam, content stealing.... etc.

stman 04-26-2002, 05:08 PM Just curious to know if you have upgraded your facility? Seems like it would be hard to fulfill with a setup like that.
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 05:36 PM not sure what you mean....by " Seems like it would be hard to fulfill with a setup like that."
stman 04-26-2002, 05:48 PM "not sure what you mean....by " Seems like it would be hard to fulfill with a setup like that."
Your facility is the one that x213 was reselling, right? They had posted some pictures on their website and it looked like an office with a couple of shelves? I saved the pictures and thought that it would be important to let other people know what "exactly" they were getting into. For some reason though I cant seem to get the photos up. To bad, because they are worth a thousand words.
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 05:50 PM well the problem is that those pictures were not of our DC
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 05:54 PM well you must have been drunk.....show me a post where I said that those pictures were our DC and I`ll give you dedicated server for 1 year FREE
stman 04-26-2002, 05:56 PM Really....... I guesse I have to take your word for it. But somehow I dont think I belive you. Any chance of you posting some photos of your operation there??????? That would surely dispell any "rumors" going round.
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 05:58 PM ok show me the edited post where I said that :-)
richy 04-26-2002, 06:02 PM fairs fair, would you mind posting some pics of what you do have, that would render and shyte totally null and void :) i reckon those other pics were of the kids bedroom. no dc runs like that, hell my office is neater then that was. im sure kc runs a good operation but it would be nice to see some pics.

sorry, I guess I was drunk. mabye it was x213 that said something about you guys.
Good Luck with everything, this seems like a good deal
stman 04-26-2002, 06:07 PM I keep trying to.... but they are obviously not posting. Look, I'm not making this up. Any one know why the photos will not post?
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 06:10 PM as I said in my previous posts I don`t want to do that. I am positive it wouldn`t dispell any rumors , I am pretty sure it would result in more bashing and flaming. I already admited in my previous posts that our DC is not 1st carrier grade datacenter, but than if we spent milions on it we wouldn`t be able to offer such a low prices.
Our priority is great uptime, speed and service for our customers servers and we have our current customers who have been with us for several months to vouch for us.
another thing I find ODD is that my post was untouched for almost 2 days and now some STMAN who just registered today on WHT and his first post is bashing my company. GO FIGURE!!!
with that I rest my case

stman 04-26-2002, 06:27 PM Look bummer...... Maybe instead of calling it a "Data Center", you should try, "an office suite with a fat pipe from Cogent". Its about honesty and integrity. Your deal is good, but you wont get to far by trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. But I must say that it was shocking to see machines sitting on a static filled carpeted floor.....
bummer6666 04-26-2002, 06:56 PM look stman.... you shouldn`t really talk about "honesty and integrity" after you you registered your nickname today.....but you know things that happened 4 months ago...which means you`ve been banned here before...or you are somebody with established nickname who created new profile today just to bash my company!!!!
My guess is that you are just an competiton who is really pissed about our pricing...well have fun bashing I don`t really care
.::DefCon::. 04-28-2002, 07:36 AM Bummer, how many servers do you put on one port max?
Have you got dedicated 10Mbit connections too?
How am I supposed to reboot my server? APC switch? Or request thru email?
.::DefCon::. 04-28-2002, 07:38 AM And how many IP's can I get maximum on a standard or fast service?
Also plz mention how much servers you put on what port (10Mbit & 100Mbit)
.::DefCon::. 04-28-2002, 07:38 AM also: do you offer any control panel?
EDIT: and are all the upgrade-prices one-time? Also for IP's on the cheapest server?
EDIT2: are prices all in? No taxes etc right?
bummer6666 04-28-2002, 06:42 PM our with our fast service you are guarranteed 10Mbit dedicated speed for you server plus your speeds are burstable to 100Mbit (there are only 10 servers per one 100mbit feed)
we have 24 hour reboot email...but if you go with the fast service you will get an access to the remote reboot port
bummer6666 04-28-2002, 06:45 PM our with our fast service you are guarranteed 10Mbit dedicated speed for you server plus your speeds are burstable to 100Mbit (there are only 10 servers per one 100mbit feed)
we have 24 hour reboot email...but if you go with the fast service you will get an access to the remote reboot port
we offer plesk only but offcourse you`re welcomed to instal any CP you like
with standard and fast service you get free IPs all we need is justification
yes all upgrade fees are one time fees only. We don`t have any hidden charges (overage, tax , reboot etc. )
porcupine 04-28-2002, 06:51 PM Just curious, how do you give ppl 10mbps ports burstable to 100mbps, but guarantee 10mbps to everyone while you have no overage charges? I've been trying to figure this one out for some time, figured someone would ask, because i'm stumped, but noone else is i guess...
richy 04-28-2002, 09:07 PM maybe the put a 100mbps feed into a 12 port switch and dont use 2 ports? isnt there an intelligent switch out there that guarantees a minimum feed per port?
.::DefCon::. 04-29-2002, 12:49 AM Dear bummer6666,
So Plesk comes for free with a server?
How-many-domain-licence would that be?
And you didn't answer my question about how many servers are put on the Basic & Standard service (give both options) per port.
(so how many servers on the 10Mbit, how many on the 100Mbit ;) )
Also: so I get an APC Masterswitch with the Fast Service, correct?
What OS is installed? Free of charge? If I send in my "ask-for-reboot" e-mail ( :stickout ), how long would it take before my server's rebooted (on the Basic & Standard service) ?
Also, with the Fast Service, those are dual 120GB hard drives, am I correct?
Thank you so much. Please answer all of my questions in one-time, because it's very annoying to find a reply that only answers half of what I asked. ;)
Kind regards,
Thomas
bummer6666 04-29-2002, 01:01 AM DefCon if you want email me at petr@kingcomp.net or ICQ at 932251 for faster responce
Plesk is not free ... price depence what lices you want
30 domain is $30 extra
300 domain is $90 extra
unlimited is $150 extra
there is no exact number on how many server per basic, standart service...we monitor the bandwidth and if servers don`t get at least 2mbits of bandwidth we roll in new 100mbit feed
yes you get the APC with the fast service
we can install redhat 7.2 or FreeBSD free of charge... if u need a different one let us know
email reboot requests are done within 10 mins...just don`t forget to include server`s IP
yes those are 2x120GB

I think he's saying that they put 10 servers on a 100 Mbps switch, so he can "guarantee" that you'll get at least 10 Mbps (100 Mbps / 10) to your server... is that right bummer?
I'd also be curious to know how you can "guarantee" *any* amount of bandwidth availability when you are allowing people to burst AND not charging for any overages? What kind of switches are you using?
bummer6666 04-29-2002, 01:18 AM We use ciscos 2924 with fiber uplink port and with latest IOS loaded.
I don`t admin our equipment so I am not exactly sure how it`s done but apparently it works .... there are couple people on WHT who have our FAST SERVICE and they are getting what they are paying for. Also customers with FAST service get their own MRTG graphs so they can check too
MystiX 04-29-2002, 01:49 AM I don't doubt that people are getting what they're paying for right now, but as you add more servers and people continue to find uses for their "unlimited" bandwidth, I'm very curious to understand your provisioning plan that will allow you to guarantee a specific amount of bandwidth... you mentioned in a previous post that when servers cannot achieve 2 Mbps, you will add more connectivity. Yet, in a different post you guarantee 10 Mbps to each server. Am I misunderstanding something here?
I'm tempted to send a server for co-location so I can do some serious Shoutcast streaming. If I paid for your $99 per month co-location plan with "unlimited" bandwidth and a 100 Mbps port, I could use as much bandwidth as I could push, right? $99 for 100 Mbps sure beats Cogent's price of $3,000. :D
bummer6666 04-29-2002, 01:56 AM I can ask out admin tomorrow how is it managed.....
yes you are misunderstanding little bit ... 2Mbit that is for our "basic' and "standard service". With the "fast" service you`re guarranteed 10Mbit minimum
yes there are no overage fees so don`t pay anything extra no matter how much you push throught....cogent`s bandwith is really good an inexpencive for straming audio/video .... check out www.cyberradio2000.com they currently have their equipment with us :-)
