Hi all,

Our new, privately owned data center facility has colocation space available, and we're currently offering fantastic prices on rack space and bandwidth for a limited time!

This is a REAL data center, with REAL power (600+ Amps from a 3-phase transformer + battery UPS + diesel generator backup), REAL air conditioning (dual Liebert ceiling & floor coolers) and REAL equipment racks.

This is not a bunch of wooden shelves in an under-equipped office suite like some Cogent "colo's" are offering! Don't be fooled by those guys.

Details are as follows...

• 100 Mbps Network Port direct to Switch (no hubs!)
• 10 IP Addresses Included
• Physically Secure Environment
• Redundant Liebert Climate Control
• Redundant Power Supply (UPS)
• Diesel Generator Backup
• Air Quality Filtration System
• Raised Flooring
• 24/7 Server Uptime Monitoring
• 24/7 Technical Assistance
• Free Remote Reboots
• 99.9% Network Uptime Guarantee
• 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
• Rack or Shelf Mount Servers OK
• Legal Adult Content is OK
• No Long Term Contracts Required
• Setup fees waived with 1 year commitment!

Data Center features 100 Mbps full duplex connection to Cogent's high speed fiber optic, OC-192 nonblocking national backbone - with 100% fiber dedicated multi OC-48 Metro Area Network (MAN) rings. This type of connectivity is perfectly suited for high bandwidth applications, and we can now bring it to you at a fantastic price.

We can accomodate just about any size or type of server for co-location (rackmount, tower, desktop, etc.) and we are very flexible to ensure that your exact needs are met.

Plans are as follows:

BASIC
• 4U of Rack or 19" of Shelf Space
• 250 GB of Monthly Xfer Included
• Additional Xfer @ $1.50 / GB
• $149 PER MONTH + $250 Setup (waived with 1 year commitment!)

C'mon now, no need to be rude here. We're just being considerate of our paying customers, that's all.

If you or anybody else would like to see our live MRTG graphs of bandwidth utilization, send me an PM and I'll be glad to send you the link so you can see firsthand. I assure you it is not oversold.

I wasn't being rude, or trying to for that matter, i'm just pointing out that people like to let the whole file download. Most connections (esp internet explorer) speed through the first 20 seconds of the file then settle down. Most people like to let it run its course for an accurate measure. What i was implying is that you've probably got so much bandwidth unutilized, it matters little.

Apologies if I mistook your tone -- I think we both know how quickly threads on here can turn into an unproductive flame war instead, and that certainly does nobody any good. :)

Your point is well taken about downloading the entire file. I suppose it really depends on the speed of the client connection. Most cable modems are about 2 Mbps max, which equates to approx 1.5 minutes for a 20 MB file... hence, the first 30 seconds or so should be enough to determine the consistant speed without downloading the entire file. If you download it from a nice size pipe, it will probably finish before you can stop it anyway, right? Anyway, the idea is just not to waste bandwidth... if we all max out our Cogent lines they'll be forced to raise their price, and we don't want that!! :stickout

Not a problem, and lol, never thought of it in that way (price hike), scary thought :D. I try to avoid flamewars also, unless something shady is going on :)

porcupine, your such a meanie. Mystix just wants top performance for his clients, since he cares about them, unlike you. Is it such a big freakin deal if you download 1mb or 20mbs? its all the same fruitcake.

I think your just made cuz you are not capable of keeping up with mystix here, and his prices are to low for you. thats just my idea.

I don't see why you had to make a flame about this, it doesn't do anything but hurt your reputation and makes mystix look like a good hard working guy...

He cares about customer service, unlike you. Let it go, you can't keep up with him.

I am prolly making an ass out of myself.
However, im sick of how people are on this form, how people are jealous and knock on other companies trying to provide good and honest services...

so everyone now point and laugh at that meanie porcupine

thanks,

-Mike

The way I see it, porcupine always responds/comments to somebody's else thread, for whatever purpose he might have. Just keep watching what he is doing and everybody will understand.

cheers,

Mike,

Maybe you need to read a few of the forum rules, and/or get your facts straight.

1. I was giving him a different perspective, which most would say "thanks" for the helpfull advice, a lot of people download entire files to get an accurate measurement
2. Calling me names isn't gonna earn you brownie points
3. The only flaming going on here is you attempting to flame me.
4. Ask any of my customers, pick any one of them, and ask them if they're satisfied with customer service, myself, and all of my staff go above and beyond.
5. You are totally making an ass out of yourself right now, disregarding forum rules, and going off on a rant for no real reason. "Before you speak you should taste your words to make sure they are palatable" - Saitoh Hajime.

I comment on anything that interests me. I am far more active in the dedicated hosting forum, and requests forum then in the offers forum, and AFAIK i've always been that way :). But of course, I like anyone else do like to keep tabs and know what others are doing, who doesen't like to keep informed?

Your not commenting, your being an a-hole...

I have nothing against anyone, but your not giving a suggestion, you were saying he is not capable of the traffic, since he is tapped out. which he isn't.

You need to get some life morals, and respect people.

Theres no way he has that 100mbps maxed out. If you have difficulty interpereting what people are saying, you may ask in a polite manner, and you would have been asked in an equally polite manner. I've got plenty of morals, and a bucketload of respect, but for you're really starting to push it, even you i have treated with politeness and respect. Now lets both stop polluting mysticx's thread, as it will not do him any good nowdays (bumping disabled, it used to be great for vendors to have postwars in their threads, not anymore though).

BTW, good thing im a Canadian :).

Mystix,

Do you offer access to the datacenter? If so, what are the available hours?

Are you planning on offering any other bandwidth providers besides Cogent?

Absolutely we offer 24/7 access to the data center. Since it is "shared space" as opposed to locking individual cabinets, it is escorted access only which allows us supervise all activity. If you'd like to stop by and check out the facility, please PM me or call 800-576-3394 and let them know you'd like a tour of the new LA data center.

Yes, we are in negotiations with a number of different bandwidth providers right now, such as Internap, Global Crossing and Pajo. We may are also considerng a cross-connect to the meet me room at the "1 Wilshire" building, which would allow you to choose connectivity from virtually any provider.

Please let me know if you have any more questions, I'll be glad to assist. Thanks!
