Q: Why do all the "Rules" links go to a page about emoticons? And where are the actual rules?

Yes, please forgive me, Rules isn't usually one of the navigational options :(

Since I started my quest for the official forum rules, I have found at least 3 separate instances of people linking to: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/misc.php?s=&action=forum-rules as the forum rules, one of them in this thread. :)

Aha! That link was probably the Rules page link before we upgraded to vB 3.5.

I've moved these posts from the Lounge FAQ thread to the Feedback forum so that we can look at doing something about that link. OTOH, maybe we could make rules from the emoticons. ;)

BTW, I'm thrilled that you want rules and that you went looking for them. If we could clone that behaviour, we would. :pray: I mean :)

You mean in the special announcements? I thought I had got most of them a couple of months ago. Perhaps you can help by letting us know which ones still need editing?

anon i think he means the links in peoples sigs, that they've yet to change

I think he was referring to post content in the Lounge WebHostingTalk FAQ (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=258621) sticky, which this thread split from. Members often link to the Rules page, in that thread and elsewhere, when questions come up about the rules.

What do you think about having the old Rules URL redirect to the new Rules URL and moving the smilies?
