any idea how rackshack is measuring the bandwidth usage? Is it upstream or downstream only or both together?
Is it correctly counted or people usually set-up MRTG stats by themself?
thx

Why are you asking us? RackShack can answer this question: sales@rackshack.net

In the ticket system you also see the amount transferred, both numbers and % of allowed. From the experience with my servers those numbers are actually lower than real transfer (i.e. if your MRTG graphs show 1 Mbps transfer on average, your monthly traffic should be theoretically about 325 GB, in reality you will see a lower figure). I am not sure what is the reason for that.
Every month RackShack promises to start charging for overage traffic and every month they fail to do that. Soon a later this will be done, but so far as I am aware RackShack did not charge anyone for overage.

To my best knowledge, a client who uses their service is the best source. Sales can answer whatever they need and sometimes a sales person is not experienced enough to answer a bit technical questions
