Look up "affiliate programs" on your favorite search engine. There are thousands of companies looking for people to promote their products for a commission. Amazon does have a program, you'll find a "Join Associates" link at the bottom of the site.

Amazon.com probably has the best affiliate program for webmasters since they provide individual products to be added on to one's site rather than banners, text links, and search boxes. Check out http://www.amazon.com/associates

There are many other affiliates on the web, and you can get connected to majority of them by signing up at Commission Junction (http://www.cj.com) or LinkShare (http://www.linkshare.com) These are two major portals where all affiliate programs come together. You can find affiliates from their site once you are accepted as a member. They are very well established, so you don't need to worry about not getting paid on time.
