View Full Version : Installing Awstats

Hi,

I've just changed over to a new hosting company that listed in their control panel manual that Awstats was available. Now I've found out it isn't. They've told me I can download awstats and have it analyze our raw logs but this sounds like a lot of work to check our stats - which we do several times a day.

Does anyone know how and where I could install something right on the site itself that would be simpler. I was reading on the actual awstats' site that you can enter scripts to have it run automatically but I have no idea where I would put these scripts or how they would work, (if it would be accessable through the control panel), plus I only have access to the control panel and FTP, I can't work PHP or Perl or know HTML.

Any help would be appreciated because the junk they have there now is a joke and we use our stats in our sales and need to have reliable, accurate stats!

and if you can't tell I'm a novice, so please speak english!

Could you just mention which control panel they sold you. Because it does not seem fare to mention something and then not to provide it.:unhappy:

Find a javascript based stat solution. There are many of them out there that are free and pretty reliable :)

Thanks, We found one that works, we just had to enter the script, somewhere in our control panel. It's actually pretty good and gives more stats than awstats.

I'm not impressed though that they state they offer awstats and then don't when you sign up.
