Is it me or is their additional bandwidth pricing f*cked up ?

You pay 100$ for an additional 100gb
but you pay 300$ for an additional 200...
shouldn't that be like... the other way around.

Have you noticed all their special offers expire on 4/31/2002 :)

We launched our dedicated server offerings at the beginning of 2002. This is why our pricing was a bit "out of wack". We have since adjusted our transfer pricing and offerings and have kept pricing consistent for the past 8 months while continuing to provide low cost dedicated solutions.

I get nice pings to them, but think 50GB of bandwidth per month is pretty skimpy

Yes, we do only offer 50 GB - someone looking for a game server or other high bandwidth intensive application may not be able to take advantage of our lower cost services, however, we have found that most of our customers do less than 10 GB. This includes, development boxes, CPU demanding applications/web sites, hosting resellers, etc. Our support and network quality makes up for the difference if users do not intend on using MEGA bandwidth.

Their website is simple to the point. I am liking that, bue I will agree that 50GB of simply not enough for the amount server applications and website content requires.

bull****... a bit drastic to compare microsoft with hitler...
as my boss said: "we wouldn't be here without microsoft" (one of our business-range is first and second level support etc., that's why ;-))

What's the differences in gentoo compared to RH? All I noticed is that it has a grapical admin interface.

This is nothing but 100% speculation, but it's possible that they built one machine, and then took the disk to other machines, and just did a raw disk copy. If they were setting up a bunch, that might be faster. (Or conceivably they could have a boot disk pull the image over the network or something... All sorts of things like that could be done.)
