Server code for counter strike 1.4 has been released.
Client code for counter strike 1.4 will be relese tomorrow morning.

I don't much like counter strike. I think there are a whole lot of other games that are better than that...

The only reason Counter-Strike 1.3 sucked so bad (I still love it though) was because of all the cheaters and the fact that it didn't need any kind of skill to shoot anyone in the head (kill them with one shot). Infact, it was a lot harder not to shoot them in head. Also the bunny jumping was a little annoying.

I haven't tried CS 1.4 yet, but I'm hoping it has improved on the areas I've mentioned.

And don't forget the 'official cheat': the awp sniper rifle.

What are the differences now?

I was going to play the beta via STEAM but I never got round to it - Will just wait for 1.4

I've heard it's easier :eek:. At least the cheaters won't run quite as rampant.. till they figure out new ways to cheat anyway :(.

I was talking the other day to guy that coded Cheating-Death and he said that CS 1.4 is most likely have a good anti-cheat system in place and C-D will no longer be needed. I'm crossing my fingers.

The main reason for CS 1.4 is to stop all the cheaters.

The new build will have anti cheat detection codes and it will upgrade on the fly for new cheats. There is sort of a fix for bunny hopping. You can't not jump around anymore when setting or defusing the bomb :). It also won't be such a memory hog, plus other minor changes.

I just tried the new CS 1.4 and so far it loosks very good. You can no longer bunny jump, even after 1 jump you move slowly for about a second when you land, if you keep jumping you will move very very slowly and you can hardly jump.

CS still doesn't have new maps, still no new weapons. It got boring. There are tons of weapons to put in the game, and tons to get rid of.

You know that you can change the skin/sound of your weapons, terrorists, counter-terrorits right? I once changed everything so that all terrorists looked like StarWars 1 droids :D I also changed my knife to a much bigger one (could hardly see where I was going when I had it in my hand), and the sniper (AWP/AWM) I changed to a bow, LOL.. I also changed my hostages to hookers in short red dresses and when I was taking them to save them they would say stuff like "ooh big guy!" LOL!!!!! :D

The bad thing is when you change all those things you kind of don't care about killing the other team anymore, you spend your time testing all the cool new stuff out. Oh well..

Oh great..... another huge patch for me to download!! :D

Anyone know of a good place to download .9 of halflife the patch is required to play tf and prob cs and ive tried every place and everyones sites are so slow they hardly come up, guess everyones downloading the patch now....

hmm - just saw someone with speed hack and aim hack(i think) at atlantamaps.org :mad:

it was easy to tell cause of the first person view while you're dead...

Is it just me or does it seem like more people are cheating in this new release (could be bugs)..
