Hi everyone... I have a friend who is writing up a paper about Carnivore (http://www.fbi.gov/hq/lab/carnivore/carnivore2.htm) and she asked if I could answer some questions for her. Since I don't run my own data center I wasn't much help, so I thought I might ask those who do have their own data center her questions. Nope, the FBI never asked to...

I'd need to make sure its warrented, but if so, and they give me a good enough reason, I wouldn't care, such as kiddie porn, etc..

I also have a good 2600 article on Carnivore, but it doesn't seem to be on the web, you might look for the Summer 2001 issue, pages 6 and 7...

I've e-mail about 10 hosts with these questions and recieved zip in response. :bawling: Hopefully the e-mails I sent out just now will get a response, at least a "sorry we can't answer this for you". I was thinking that maybe these questions might be too intrusive, I sure hope I can get a little more feedback. Her paper is due in 2 weeks.

Carnivore isn't something alot of people know about.... So I doubt you'll get a flood of responces.....
