I've been experiencing difficulties w/ WordPad lately.
Everytime I attempt to download a WP document from the web, the content(s) of the file(s) are displayed as something similar to this:
5>*CJ5>*CJ5>*CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56 CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ56CJ
What can I do to resolve this problem?
Thanks.

What is the extension of the document you are trying to open? From that it looks like you tried to open some other format that you do not have the software to support.
Aren't the 's breaks in the document? If so, try opening it with another program.

The extension of these files were .doc
Just now I had downloaded a contract that was sent to me through e-mail, the proper text appeared but everything was out of place and dis-organized. (The box characters appeared all over the document as well..)

I think the problem is that the word document sent to you needs to be opened with a more recent version of Microsoft Word. WordPad probably doesn't support the newer word documents.
I recommend you either get the proper software to try & view the document, or you can ask that they send it in another format?

Alright, thanks for everyone's help.
I've been planning on purchasing MS Word for quite a while now, I guess I'll go ahead and purchase it this weekend.

If you are looking for a quick alternative there is prob something at download.com that will let you print and view it. I know I just saw someone got this for an excel spreadsheet that someone had sent them and they did not have office.

Thanks for that alternative suggestion. I forgot all about the MS Word viewer.
I may still purchase MS Word. I did some research on it and it seems like a nifty program. :)
