Hi. I was wondering, are webhosts very profitable, and is it your full-time jobs or just a hobby while u work full-time at some other place? im just wondering, cuz i'm interested in it and i might be looking for a new job very soon! thanks,

Yes...I work hosting full time..That is about 16 hours a day online for me., and when I can I try to work freelance web and graphic design.
Sure it can be profitable, but theres alot of expense for example..merchant account, tech support,if you lease servers that has to be figured in to your expense..it can go on and on. I think also..you HAVE TO be a people person.
Hope this info helps...an ideal situation I think is to become a reseller, for a good company, then you can get a feel for the business..and see if you really like it!

do you have a full-time staff as well? how big is your staff? i was thinking about becoming a reseller, but i would provide really crappy tech support (becuz im a full-time student).. plus i ain't much of a people person. i do have a lot of tech & design skills. i just wish i knew how to put it to work!!! does anyone wanna hire me? (just a shot)..

Heres a few pointers for ya :D
First try going to http://www.elance.com
You can join elance and it is free. Alot freelancers go there...they will post projects..both ways...buyer and seller...you are able to bid on posts.etc.
Another thing about the reselling...maybe it would work out better for you to get involved with a host that would pay pretty good for "referring" THAT way you wouldnt have to do anything...just refer people..no support,payments and all the work would be on the host.
